Tommy Bahama King Bahama Coast Bed Blanket Natural: Cotton Woven, OEKO-TEX Certified, Lightweight

I'm sorry I didn't read reviews before purchasing. After one washing, the blanket fell apart. The amount of lint in the dryer was so extreme I needed to change the filter twice before it could dry completely. Unbelievably poor quality.

Unfortunately this blank was a disaster for us in more than one way. We took the blanket out of the heavy plastic wrapping paper and washed with gentle detergent on the bulky/gentle setting in cold water and medium low spin. We have a nice very capable LG washer and dryer. The blanket was heavy when loading. We followed the washing instructions precisely. Upon opening the washer drawer, thousands of small cotton microbeads fell out of the washer. I think these came from the stamped pattern in the blanket. I ran the rinse/ spin cycle a second time because the blanket was completely water soaked and now extremely heavy. After the second spin, I transferred to the dryer and dryed carefully on bulky but medium low setting. While dyring I cleaned out the washer and filter which was now clogged with heavy cotton beads. It is as if the blanket fell apart in the washer. It took over an hour to clean the washer. Next up was three cycles on the dryer and three laundry room waste baskets full from the lint trap. Micro beads everywhere in the dryer. The mess continued. I then proceeded to air dry the blanket for the remainder of dryring. Amazing, the blanket did not shrink as far as I can tell. But it seems more transparent in the light. The horrible smell from packaging was now gone and the blanket is very soft to the touch. But it snags easily so it needs another layer like a light comforter over it. The clothers dryer is now totally ruined and the drum sounds like a pounding nightmare. My blanket seemed like a bargain until the service man told me the dryer can not be repaired. I just ordered a new washer and dryer through Costco ($1,800 on July 4th sale) and I think any future blanket buyers should take this blanket to a professional cleaner which will charge about $35.00. I am thinking this blanket will not have a long life so I plan to reach out to Tommy Bahama for a remedy to the situation. This was obviosuly a very expensive purchase, Not a good use of my $50.00 reward card.

The weave on one bottom corner began unravelling after the first wash.

Cup after cup of lint from two washings. Now I wish I had saved all the lint I removed from the dryer. I think it might be a health hazard--if lint is in the air and on our bed, we must be breathing it in. I guess I am going to donate it, but I am not sure that is the right thing to do to someone else. I am so very disappointed. It was the right weight and 100% cotton. It must be a lot lighter, though, now.

Bought this blanket and before putting it in the wash I went to shake it ... and a huge cloud of dust appeared... took the blanket outside and the dust cloud got bigger and bigger- it was insane, like someone had just covered it in saw dust or something. Uncomfortable about even using this blanket after washing.

Don't buy a blanket that is joint double/queen - way too small for a queen bed! I bought 2 and in my haste to get the beds made for approaching company, I neglected due diligence. Washed them in cold water, air dried and cut the tags off, then tried to make the beds. Either they were too small to begin with or they shrunk, I'm thinking both. I have standard depth mattresses and the blanket is still not wide enough to tuck in. Now I'm stuck with 2 blankets that I can't do anything with except donate.

Soft, supple, great quality. Nice hand and weight to be used on the bed in addition or separate of duvet.

I like sleeping with a nice, light blanket like this. Gives off a little warmth, but not smothering. Very comfortable, easy to make the bed with it, and looks great if you fold the comforter back to show the blanket underneath. Be Aware: the other reviews mentioning the excess lint in the dryer are 100% right. I recommend you dry it on relateively low heat (i.e., Delicate), and just run it on a 10-minute timer. Empty the dryer screen every 10 minutes until the blanket is dry. Probably do this for the first 2-3 times you wash it; otherwise the lint will likely get stuck in your dryer vents. Way more than you'd think there would be.

Love the color. Perfect weight. After washing, it fits my queen bed perfectly but might be a bit small for a king.

I bought this blanket to take the place of a similar blanket that was listed as a Queen but was more for a double bed blanket. When I first took it out of the wrapping it was a bit scratchy. After washing it was a bit softer.

Wasn’t sewn in three places all along hem. I shouldn’t have to sew a brand new blanket out of package. Expensive price, cheap quality. Disappointing for Tommy Bahama brand.

Perfect summer weight blanket!

Received this blanket two days ago, I was very excited because the quality felt amazing. Pulled it out of the packaging and instantly snagged one of the corners, tried to pull it back together and then washed it. Multiple snags all over now. Then I put it in the dryer and there was so much lint it was unbelievable. There was like 4 inches of thick lint in my dryer from this blanket. Super disappointed because I’ve been looking all over for a good cotton woven waffle blanket!

Not pleased. Washed and then it got all kinds of snags. Also, lots of lint while drying. I ordered the aqua color and it’s not even close to the same color as pictured. Not impressed

Beautiful thick blanket. Took it out of package, reviewed it. Perfect. One wash by itself and it had snags, runs. $60 for a snagged blanket. So much for that lesson. Cannot return and no refund. Very disappointed! Tommy Bahama is a premium brand and I expect a far better quality item.

I purchased this blanket in dark gray/ full size and I love the texture, weight for warmth, it fit well and wasn't difficult to wash (not too heavy for spin cycle) it also dried without sinkage. I highly recommend this item.
