A: Hi Jenny, The CD Mounting Bracket stays in a fixed position, and the cradle of the mount (which actually holds the phone) is connected to that piece with a ball joint so that it can be angled towards you (or rotated between landscape and portrait). The cradle doesn't really slide side-to-side or up and down, but the ball joint allows you to angle the cradle up to 40° from center in any direction, so it has a pretty wide range of motion.
