Q: Will this help with exfoliating the skin? I have a residue of dry dead skin on my cheeks and chin from my acne medication that's been hard to remove, even with the Glycolic acid toner
submitted by Gods girl - 8 months ago
A: The Squalane Cleanser is mainly a hydrating cleanser, not an exfoliating product. While it removes makeup and impurities, it doesn’t contain active exfoliants like AHAs or BHAs to target dead skin.

Meh
I ended up switching to a more hydrating cleanser. This one was not suitable for my aging skin.

Made me break out
Left an oily residue. For comparison, I will sometimes use Lancome's Bi-facil makeup remover (think micellar) and it's less oily after use than this face wash. I broke out with several deep blemishes on my cheek and below my chin that took a while to heal. I have combination skin, so the placement surprised me. Also doesn't remove all waterproof mascara well.

I wouldn't purchase again
This cleanser made my eyes blurry. That's with them being closed shut. It didn't even take off my makeup like it claims it would. There's better cleansers out there.

Change of ingredients - not so "clean" anymore
So disappointed in this brand. Have been buying products for years since they are known for being a "clean" brand. They have changed their formula on this face wash and it is no longer clean. I an trying to use chemically clean products so this bait and switch is very disappointing. Will be returning this product and finding another face wash.

The GOAT for makeup removal
I keep stocked on this product. It turned my acne around, after my facialist advised me to doubke cleanse, using something with squalene. I didn't realize mu makeup was actually not coming off 100% with other washes. This has a good consistency to take everything off, even my mascara so nothing is on the pillow. Cleared my skin up.

Great product.
So I first started using the Squaline as added moisture when applying my foundation. Then I found the cleanser. I tried the smaller size . Loved it went back and purchased the larger size. I do use it opposite of some. I cleanse 1st with another then with the squaline cleanser because it moisturizes and does not strip my skin. I have very sensitive skin and it agrees with my skin

I like it
This does a good job removing my makeup, except mascara. I still need to use micellar water for that. It keeps my skin soft and feeling hydrated after use

Heals the Skin Barrier
I always keep this on hand. I tend to rotate cleansers depending on what is happenig with my skin. This is the one I always go back to when my skin is irritated and inflamed. Within a couple days everything is back to normal. Great price and my skin loves it.

Excellent Product for Makeup Removal
I love this cleanser because I don't have to use a different product to remove mascara and other eye makeup. It does not irritate my eyes any at all. The packaging is also nice because it does not leak when I am traveling.

Holy grail cleansing balm
Of all the cleansing oil and balms I've tried, this is the only one that works for my sensitive, clog and acne-prone skin. It gets off everything, washes off easily, and does not leave my skin stripped, irritated, or with any sort of film on it.

Intensely Hydrating & Mattifying! 🥰
At such a cheap price point, I had some reservations about trying this product. However, the Ordinary is really solid proof that affordable and efficacious don't have to be mutually exclusive after all! I'm so impressed by this product in particular, as it has now become my absolute favorite cleanser! I highly recommend this cleanser for anybody with especially dry and/or acne-prone skin because the squalane formulation retains the moisture required to maintain a healthy skin barrier, without any harsh stripping. No other cleanser has left my face so hydrated and it has smoothed the rough texture I previously suffered from with its mattifying, pore-blurring finish.
