XTERRA Fitness ERG650W Water Rowing Machine

Spent 2 weeks researching rowing machines. This machine had a 5 star rating. Having assembled and used it for a little over a week now I agree the the rating. Well made, provides an excellent workout. Very glad I did not drop a thousand or two on a high end machine.

I've found rowing to produce real results over the course of 70 years and a lot of miles rowed on the water, in a boat and using a variety of machines that are intended to replicate the resistance and sensation of the real thing. this machine, bargain pticed at $600, is impressive. Exceptionally sturdy and stable, I'm regaining the loss of muscle and endurance lost to inactivity and age combined. It's clear that this machine will outlast me while improving the quality of life between now and then. Shopped relentlessly before choosing the Exterra 650, and have not regretted purchasing the best at a price half that of anything approaching this machine.

I researched water rowers for two weeks, for a total of at least 20 hours. I saw the cheap ones, I saw the expensive ones. I saw the wooden ones, I saw the every possible water rower! Finally, I researched this company, found out they are US based. This water rower was also built with two support rails for the seat slider, instead of one center rail. Two rails = much better stability and strength. Finally, after doing so many comparisons, I ordered this product through Target. It arrived in 3 days, in perfect condition and was easy to setup. The included instruction manual is excellent. Sadly, I was missing one washer. I called customer service, spoke with someone in the United States, right away, and within 48 hours I received the replacement washer in the US mail, along with a letter thanking me for buying the water rower. Took 5 seconds to put the washer on----and that was it. The computerized display is super easy to use and understand. I've been rowing now for 6 months, and the more I row, the more I love this rower. Very high quality construction, the sound of water whooshing as I row is great, and wow, it really feels like I am rowing on a lake! I'm not kidding. Non of this magnetic resistence stuff that does not feel real....The water rower feels real because it is real.....I am rowing against actual water resistence. Just wonderful. I think this rower is worth twice the price of what they are asking. It is the best value for money out there, and is outstanding, overall. Above is a picture of my water rower in the basement. I have a video projector, so that I can watch TV on a GIANT 21 foot screen while I row. Makes it a lot of fun. So, if you are reading this far, then let me say----stop reading and just order this water rower from Xterra. You will be very happy.

The rower was my best choice. I like the fact that I can work my belly, arms and legs all at one time. The computer is easy to understand. The Rower folds up for storing. the seat could be more comfortable but I can tolerate it. Customer service rep, Dominique, is outstanding as well.
