A Parenting Must Have
Lately, I have found myself struggling to find words in lament and joyful moments of everyday life. This book is such a treasure and one that I will always keep close. Kayla writes about the mundane, complicated, and beauty that life holds so well. These prayers also recognize privilege, something very important to my family. Parent or not- I know this book will bring you a renewed connection with God. The physical book is also gorgeous and well designed.

Gorgeous book for anyone who knows and loves a child
Kayla Craig offers a stunning book for parents - or really anyone who has relationships with children of any age! There are dozens of beautifully written prayers and pages of breath prayers for all kinds of situations, from special days to everyday moments, which can be read and prayed as-is (including a few simple prayers worded for kids!), but which may inspire your own words as well. I especially appreciated the way the prayers acknowledge the likely privilege of the type of parent who would be able to afford this book (or have the friends who would purchase this book for them). Most of the prayers have some moment of outward focus, remembering those who might be struggling, who might not have the same resources, who might be oppressed or grieving or suffering. As I sit with these prayers and let Kayla's words become my own, I ask God to let his heart become my heart, to care for those on the margins as much as he does. Beautiful book to have on your nightstand or to give as a gift.

Loved it!
This book has been instrumental in helping to calm my spirit in the overwhelming moments of parenting. The prayers help to give me words when I am too exhausted to come up with my own, and then lead me into worship. I look forward to using this book time and time again.

Just what I needed!
Wow. This book has meant so much to me. The sheer number of prayers for specific moments throughout the parenting journey is incredible, from pregnancy, to caring for newborns, all the way through taking kids to college. Raising my own two small children, I don’t have the brain power to come up with prayers, but Kayla includes the simplest of breath prayers at the back of the book in addition to all of her longer liturgical prayers. I’ll be getting this book for all of my friends who are having babies and raising families.

I am "currently" reading as this is not a book through you read straight through- you come back to it, time and time again. As a parent herself, author Kayla Craig understands the humbling moments of parenthood where we need strength, wisdom, and patience beyond ourselves. The prayers in her book are nuanced, beautiful, and spot-on for my moments of need. When you don't have the words or the time to pour out your heart to God, these soulful prayers will guide you- to God and to a place of peace.

Beautiful Book!
This beautiful book. It's a collection of prayers that range from the messy to the mundane. It's about praying for the personal journeys we are on as well as the things happening in the world. These are prayers on the lips of parents that can be passed on to children. In fact, we are moving soon, and there is a prayer we will pray on the day of moving. It covers the heartache of infertility and loss as well as birth and growth. It would be an excellent gift for a new mom. It will definitely be a well-used book on my shelf for years to come!

Thoughtful, rich, timeless. This is filled with prayers that reach the corners of your heart and give it words. Ideas, worries, doubts, feelings, experiences that are wound up inside the heart and mind are given words to release back to God. This is a book to have within reach as your life journey winds through unknown territory.
