Now, as an international model known for her beautiful tightly coiled hair, Liya spends her time promoting appreciation for natural 4-textured hair. Liya features 5 points of articulation for lots of editorial-worthy poses, textured 4C hair and deep brown skin. Dressed for the runway, she wears an elegant, sky blue glitter-knit dress, sparkly stud earrings, strappy heels, and carries a matching handbag. Love image of doll, so purchased Paige as well and looking for others. Did not like the very short dresses on Liya and Paige and some painted on under garments would have been nice since they have a bosom on them. Liya hair was a little matted but that may from being in box so I will play with it to get fullness. . Just add more clothes, paint some under garments on them please

Gift from a student
Liya was given to me by a student who knows I love dolls. And coffee. Liya's my first Naturalista. Also gifted to me was her coffee shop clothes change. I prefer her in the cocoa cappochino colors of the coffee shop add-on, or some of my brighter wax fabric prints. You can get her to stand on her own, or prop her up with some furniture or another doll. All of the kids wanted to touch her, and to gently touch her hair. We scrunched and tried to get her hair back into shape. It mostly worked. She won't hold up to a lot of hair play. I preferred her in the coffee shop outfit. I also found that I can fit her into most clothes from Barbie and her friends. Curvy will be too big for her. Look for bodycon stretch styles, and A-line waists. Or leggings with tops. I thought only my AA and HA students would be drawn to Liya. Everyone was drawn to her. I'd brought in a jade green sweater dress that was everyone's favorite +the coffee shop shoes.

Amazing styling head!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this styling head for my daughter and I'm so glad I did! She absolutely loves it. She loves that she can do many different hairstyles on it and take them down and start again. I was able to use it to teach her how to braid and now she braids it all the time. She also loves how long her hair is and that they have the same skin tone. I love that it keeps her busy for hours! Highly recommend!

Basic doll but looking good.
The doll looks great. The selling point, the hair, is a nice change of pace. Also the shape of her bokdy is nice, more human than barbie. The only bad point is it only has 5 points of articulation. Arms and legs go up and down. Head goes left and right. Good for kids to be rough with and good for adults that want something different and mainly for display. If you are into posing you might be diappointed in the lack of articulation.

Beautiful reinforcement for black girls.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this product for a few weeks and I am so happy that I got it. It is so hard to find black dolls that look like real black skin, instead of black crayons. This doll is absolutely gorgeous! In fact, I would have loved owning one as a kid. My daughter adores her and especially loves her hair because it looks like hers. She also likes the fact that her hair is out, so she could change the styles each day. The doll also has hips and a bottom which I thought was genius, since most dolls are skinny and straight; a shape most black people do not have. The one area for improvement though, is the type of dress the doll wore. I think for all the positive imagery the doll showed, it would have been nice to see her dressed well. Her dress was not only short but scanty. For the target demographic of toddler girls, this was inappropriate. Despite that, I do think this brand does a good job highlighting black women and their ethnicity in a positive way.
