So far so good.
I researched different vertical climbers prior to buying the Cardio Climber. I did not want to spend $3,000-$5,000 on an actual VersaClimber, but I also didn't buy a MaxiClimber or cheaper models, considering the mixed reviews about quality. I settled on this one (mid-price range, has resistance that wasn't hydraulics, can be rolled away out of sight). While I have not used the Cardio Climber for more than a few work outs at this point, here are my pros and cons: CONS: 1. The handle bars on the sides are too wide to move through a standard doorway. One exception is, I was able to roll the machine through a threshold that did not have a door attached to it. It JUST fit through. When I tried to move it into my bedroom (which has a door), the handle bars got jammed on the edge of the door. I'll caveat that to say, my bedroom door doesn't swing all the way open (180 degrees), it only swings open alittle passed a 90 degree angle. I will be able to easily remove the handlebars if moving the machine into another room with a door, but it's just an added step to perform. 2. There is no way to switch the handlebars to get two different climbing modes. I wish vertical climbers offered this! The only climber I found that offers this was the CrossClimber ($500). Maybe they have a patent on that. I almost bought the CrossClimber, for that reason, but the CC didn't have resistance. I wish Stamina made handlebars that allowed for the switch in climbing motion. 3. I wish there were a waterbottle holder. I don't think many vertical climbers offer that, though. PROS: 1. I put this together myself. It took about 1 - 1.5 hours. It's heavy, but the instructions are very easy to follow. 2. It is fairly quiet. I love the magnetic resistance. I can definitely tell the difference between 1 and 8. 3. Price point is fair, compared to very expensive alternatives that seem to offer workout programs/modes that you don't really need as an average adult trying to workout at home. If you want Lebron James' version of a climber, find one in a gym. 4. The phone holder is fine. It's helpful, but just a rubberband type frame that stretches around your phone. 5. The quality is there. The pieces are heavy and sturdy. 6. Delivery was so quick. Other websites said they couldn't ship this product for 4-6 weeks. I bought this Cardio Climber through Target and it shipped out of Savannah, GA the next day, and it was at my doorstep in 2 days after that.

Excellent machine
While I have not tried the more (outrageously) expensive climbers, I have tried the less expensive, and from my experience, the Stamina climber is well worth the money: More fluid in motion and easier on the knees. The directions are clear and assembly is very easy. All the parts seem perfectly tooled. If you want a vertical climber, I highly recommend this one!
