Q: Does the handle get hot? Or is it insulated?

submitted by Jenny Lang - 3 months ago
  • A: Cuisinart Stainless Cookware features cool-grip, oven-safe handles that can withstand temperatures up to 500°F, with glass lids safe up to 450°F. While the handles stay comfortable during stovetop use, we recommend using potholders when handling hot cookware for added safety, making it easy and versatile for all your cooking needs.

Q: What kind of steel do you guys use for this brand? 18/10 or 18/8?

submitted by Chloe - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your inquiry. Currently, the only line of cookware which is 18/10 stainless is the French Classic. All other current stainless-steel cookware is 18/0 which is also called Premium Stainless Steel. This means that neither performance, quality, nor appearance would be compromised in anyway. I hope this helps clear everything up for you.

So dissapointed

I have purchased several pieces of individual pots. 2 of the pots have started to have the finish wear off on the bottom and are pitting. I still have and used my 60 year old Farberware pots that are in perfect condition. I am completely frustrated with the Cuisinart new pots.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 8 days ago
Thank you for sharing your experience with the Chef's Classic™ Stainless Saucepan, and we’re sorry to hear about the finish wear and pitting you’ve encountered. To help preserve the cookware’s appearance and performance, we recommend using low to medium heat, avoiding rapid temperature changes, and cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners designed for stainless steel. Our Consumer Assistance Center is available at 1-800-726-0190 and can review your concerns in detail—please reference Ticket #8900576020 when you call. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps guide improvements in our future models.

Awesome set, bigger pots have challenges.

I bought this set 6 months ago and while yes, there is a learning curve, they were working beautifully until I went to unload my dishwasher that ran in a normal cycle and discovered my 8qt stockpot had split in the walls of the pot and was extremely upset. However, upon doing a bit of research seems that this is common for this pot and there are a few posts in Reddit with it. Seems like a manufacturing issue.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 27 days ago
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re very sorry to hear about the issue with your stockpot. To help prevent damage, we recommend hand washing larger pots and avoiding high-heat dishwasher cycles, as rapid temperature changes can sometimes affect performance. Our team would be happy to review the issue and discuss possible solutions. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8900559109 for assistance.

Stainless steel forever

It's a very good product. Exactly what I expect from cuisinart. I've had them a year and haven't been disappointed. I love the versatility, sear on the stove toss in oven to finish. The larger pans are great for 1 pot dinners. 2 of mine do have manufacturer defects which is why I gave 4 not 5 stars but don't affect performance. Since these are composite do not put in dishwasher or soak the entire pan in water. Stainless steel cookware is the way to go. Better performance than nonstick and less maintenance than cast iron. This is best budget option I have seen.

Awful

Absolutely everything sticks to these pans. Potatoes, eggs, you name it - the worst pans I’ve ever had. I’ve tried “seasoning” with oil and cooking in ample amounts of oil. I would not recommend.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 2 months ago
We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the 77-17N stainless-steel set and appreciate you sharing your feedback. Stainless steel requires preheating the pan before adding oil and allowing food to naturally release once properly seared, as adding food too early can cause sticking. We would be happy to walk through detailed cooking tips to help you achieve the best performance from your cookware. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8900522096 for assistance.

Love this set

Very high quality set. I absolutely love it. It’s my first stainless steel set and there is a learning curve for the nonstick frying pans, but if you watch some videos and read about cooking with them you can do it easily. The handles on the pans themselves have stayed cool for me, but I did have one lid that got too hot to touch. I definitely recommend buying Barkeeper’s Friend cleaner to have on hand to clean the pans with if you have tough stains, or if it gets discolored. The discoloration is not damaging to the pan and the cleaner takes it away. Otherwise I just use Dawn soap.

Wonderful Set at a Wonderful Price

Excellent! Very happy with this set. The "everything sticks" reviews are most likely from customers who don't know how to use stainless steel cookware. Stainless is not for everyone. The cookware is well made and looks fantastic, even after use. Cleaning can be a bit of a chore, but, again, stainless is not for everyone. Steak, chops, veggies, soups, stews, chili and eggs all come out great. I highly recommend this set to folks who are a bit more "into" cooking and not your average Joe or Jane who is looking for non-stick pots and pans right out of the box.

Chef's Classic Stainless Steel Cookware - A+

Complete set of stainless steel cookware for every need. Well made, nice handles that you can grip firmly and not just a knob. I had to buy new cookware for an electric ceramic cooktop after having a gas cooktop for many years. After much research, I ordered this set and am extremely pleased. I love that they are dishwasher safe, though a few pans have just a bit of discoloration on the inside bottom after washing. It does not affect cooking, so it's a minor thing. I would purchase these again and highly recommend.

Best non stick pan

After Learning how to properly use this skillet, it’s the best non stick pan we ever had! Cooks our food really well! Even tested eggs 👍🏻 Highly recommend! You need to wait for the pan to heat up, after splashing water on it and the bubbles move around then you know your pan is just about ready. Take it off the heat for a couple minutes then add your oil or butter or whatever you’re using. Then put the pan back on the heat under medium/low heat. Then it’s ready!!

Wonderful Pan.

Bought this pan last week. Love it. I just made scrambled eggs with cheese and they were great. It cleaned up very well. I didn’t have to scrub it. I am surprised at the bad reviews. Read the directions on tips for cleaning. I will be buying another. I am in the process of replacing all of my old non-stick poison pans.

The best buy for your money

These have been in the family for years and they are great if you know how to use them. If you are used to "non-stick" pans, these will be very different. You have to use butter or oil to cook and your temperatures will be lower as these pans conduct the heat quite a lot hotter than regular pans. Also, if they start to stick even with the use of butter, et al., you need to follow the instructions for cleaning them. Use Barkeeper's Friend, works like a charm and your omelets won't stick.

Worst pots and pans ever!

Worst cookware we’ve ever bought! Everything sticks to it - - even when using an ample amount of olive oil. After using this crappy product for a year, we threw it away and bought HEXCLAD.

Don't recommend

This is the worst pan I’ve ever had. Every single thing I used it for would stick and I’d have to scrub so much to get food off, and there would still be marks. Dishwasher didn’t help. Sad!!
