The size is the only good thing. It might be good for an office or bedroom but it literally stinks as a garbage can. I tried to put baking soda to help with the smell. It’s almost impossible to get the inside back after emptying it out. The pedal is useless like others have mentioned. Waste of money. I’d rather pay triple and get the superhuman one.

Hi Cwat! Our Storage products are made of polypropylene plastic. Polypropylene sometimes has a plastic smell (especially the clear products) when first purchased that dissipates fairly rapidly once the product is unpacked and put to use.Washing with a lemon scented or grease fighting detergent and rinsing thoroughly helps dispel any noticeable odor. Detergents sometimes adhere to plastics and you will want to wipe and rinse well. Air or towel dry.

bought this because it said it is designed to hide trash bags, but it doesn't work. the inner bin is way too close to the outer bin, so if you put a bag in, the inner bin stays up and the lid won't shut. returning immediately

Great little bin
The lid is flush to the bin, which could be great if you’re worried about it being pet proof. For me, I have this in my kids room and I often am in a sitting position when I’m going to throw something in their waste bin, but because it’s flush, I have to press on the lever with my hand or pick up the whole Thing to open the lid. Essentially, you need to step on the lever to use it, which is of course what it’s intended for.

The mini garbage can is cute. It's low priced, but even at the $10.00 mark it's quality seems a bit more under that price. If you use the push pedal so you have to use your hands to open up the lid, be sure to lightly use pressure from your foot otherwise the whole insert for the garbage pale raises to high and doesn't just naturally close on its own causing you to then have to use your hands to touch it. Other than that it still serves its purpose as a mini trash bin.
