Cute

Simple. Value of a dollar. Though most of us never got paid for helping your family. Now days kids can't mow or Shovel for strangers. So in reality it would be hard to save money unless you count birthday card money but you are lucky if your parents let you keep that as well. Cute simple book. I like pete the cat stories. These and Amelia badelia are our favorite.

Great lesson on saving money

My 5 year old really liked his story. Pete wants to buy a toy in the winter/spring. Throughout the summer he does various jobs to earn money. He also chooses to save his money along the way instead of splurging on other items like a hot cocoa, instead he makes one at home, ultimately to purchase the toy that he really wants. Overall, a great lesson of saving for something and saying no to other little splurges by making/doing them at home.
