A Little Spot: My First Emotions - by Diane Alber (Board Book)

Item is fine, but delivery was not. The package was left and photographed in the dirt in a median outside of my neighborhood. And I can’t find a real person to call or chat with about this.

The idea of the bold colors (in this book) to associate with feelings is great! The color that is described and written as “pink” is more like a neon purple (fuchsia color is leaning more towards an obvious purple color). Magenta, maybe? But ehh looks more purple in person. I was expecting better descriptions of each emotion but it’s a starting place since the colors and facial expressions are helpful.

Got this for my 2.5 year old who is going through a lot of emotions. She loves the book and was really interacting with it while we read it. I’m hoping it can help her learn more about her feelings and what they mean in a constructive way

Cute book that teaches about different emotions, I like how it relates to color as well. Haven’t read it a ton with my toddler yet, but I’m hoping it will help teach her to identify her different emotions.

I bought this book for my daughter for Christmas after another mom recommended it to me. She has lots of big emotions and speaks well for her age, so I’m hoping this helps her process her feelings. Can’t wait to give it to her!

If you’re teaching your kiddos about emotions this a good one

Added this book to our quiet calm corner basket for my toddler along with other sensory toys to regulate emotions. She loves the book and has already identified many of the emotions at only 1.5 years old. Highly recommend this one

My three year old loves this book! We have incorporated it into preschool learning and that night said that daddy was an orange dot (confidence) after finishing his dinner then continued to use the colors the rest of the night. Very helpful!

To start, I LOVE the series. I bought multiple box sets and all the plushies for my older child. But as far as toddler books go this one isn’t really cute or fun enough to hold their attention… unfortunately I will be returning this book and reading her the other Spot Of Emotion books. Definitely check out other books by this author!

My granddaughter hit the ground running with those terrible two's. This book, in a fun way, helped her to identify what she was feeling and made things a little bit easier. There is no miracle cure, other then time but anyhting that takes the edge off is worth looking into this Mimi's opinion. :-)

I feel like these books are over hyped. It’s not some novel idea of teaching kids emotions or anything like that, it’s a cute book but I feel like there are better books for teaching emotions and how to handle those emotions
