Nice sewing machine
I bought this sewing after looking for a while when my 30+ yr.one went to the Great Sewing Factory in the Skies. I don’t need all the Bells and Whistles that are on the computer styles. So far I like many features. The drop in Bobbin and the little thread cutter attached to the machine are two examples. It has a self needle threading that I’m still trying to get use to though.

Good beginner machine
This sewing machine is a solid beginner model. I myself am just starting my sewing journey, and this machine has worked well so far. One caveat - the instruction manual said “Zigzag foot J” would be included in the accessories, but it was missing from my purchase. It seems a lot of people are having this trouble with Brother quality control.

Easy to use
First sewing machine ever, I love the removable arm to make manipulating fabrics easier, the threading instructions on the device are incredibly helpful, and it comes with plenty of stitches for a newbie (I’ve used three consistently). I am bummed that it did not come with all the accessories listed on the box, but am actively using the ones that did.

Needs help
The stitching does not work properly. Despite repeated contacts with the company, the issue has not been resolved. In the past, I have been pleased with Brother machines but do not plan on repurchasing this machine in the future.

Disappointed
I didn’t get all the parts with buttonhole and coupon if other things. Very tough to use needle insert.

Awful
I’ve had this for a little over a year and it is the worst thing ever. No matter what tension, length, or width I set this machine too, the stitches skip or get stuck in the machine. I really wanted to learn how to sew a while ago but I gave up with this machine. Just decided to try again today and it made me mad all over again. I wish I could get a different machine.

Worst Machine Brother Has Made
I only use Brother machine for everything, even my serger and embroidery machines. I'm a diehard Brother fan. I have had at least 10 over the years. I recently purchased the GX37, it is the absolute worst machine I have ever owned. It has no power to get through even 4 layers of cotton, it also smells like its burning all the time. I have to stop use for at least an hour after a few hours of use. I'm really unhappy with this machine, unfortunately I can't afford another SM3701 right now.

Problem threading machine
I have had my machine for a while but don't use it often. Because it is so hard to thread the top thread. The part you put the thread in that goes up and down doesn't come up far enough.

Not too bad
Had product for 1 year and reverse button is already stuck. Closest authorized repair is 2 hours away. Otherwise, machine is very easy to use.

Love the gx37
Love the gx37. I began sewing March 2020 to do something during COVID crisis. Self taught and I’ve gotten really good. I make all my clothes. The gx37 does all the stitches and procedures I could ever want.

The pinnacle of this price tier.
This is hands down the best machine I've owned(out of 4). My last machine was a classic ELNA 8000 Computer. Loved it, until the rotary hook gave out. Then I bought this machine as per several recommendations by friends and colleagues, and I do not regret it. I daresay this model (GX37) is THE best available overall at this price tier. I did extensive research beforehand, and came to this conclusion. I heartily recommend this machine to anyone, beginners to veterans.

I enjoy my brother sewing machine
I love my GX37... I have sewing many quilts, repaired multi-able clothing items,created various tote bags & composition book covers for my students. I have used many of the 37 different decorative stitches in many of my projects. I have had other sewing machines, but this one by far I really enjoy sewing with. The self threader is a real bonus.

Best machine ever
I was so excited to get my first machine. Mimi G inspired me to learn to sew. I haven't gotten all the things I needed yet to sew patterns yet, but I LOVE my sewing machine. I would not trade it for any other. Before I bought it, I asked an experienced seamstress and they told me the best machine to buy is a brother.
