Cute toy

I don’t understand why the app is necessary built the toy from the instruction books and the app does not provide anything that I can see other than the instructions in video format.

You can absolutely build and play with your Super Mario™ set without using the app if you prefer! The only time you'll need the app is to update your Mario character!

My 10 year old nephew put it all together and he had a great time doing it! 278 pieces is not too hard for an older child but would be a great challenge for the age of about 7. They love playing with legos and love Mario so it was the best of both worlds and we love playing both with them as well. It’s great for the whole family and friends. Definitely not for small ones as some pieces are small and pose a choking hazard but definitely fun for those who can play with it. It’s easy to put together and fun to play with. I love how durable it is and made for rough play.

I really felt like the missed it here with this set. We already got a Mario Standard Kart earlier this year it would’ve made much more sense to have this be a Luigi or Peach Standard Kart. Rest of the set is fine.

Super Mario kart

I had bought the original kart and the seperate starter set to have Mario. They decided to release this set with Mario included and I made the purchase. It’s a fun build while on vacation. The only issue I have is with the Mario being not being loud enough. The volume is so low I can barely hear what he is saying. Not sure if anyone else has had an issue but I reached out to Lego for a response.

Nothing New

Only purchased this to review it, and it is a very disappointing set. We just got another Mario starter course, and this was so unnecessary. The builds are not great, and this is a just a mediocre set. The standard kart is it's own set, and this standard kart doesn't even come with the glider. The mushroom cup was in the grand prix set, and everything else is in another set. The only semi-new thing is the thwomp. But that also comes in another set this wave. And for some reason, the tag juts out on the back. Worst Mario Kart set so far. Would not recommend.
