Why haven't I had this in my life before?
My wife and I have had a peeler that has the blade on the side (the type you hold like a knife) for each of our entire lives. Then, we got this thing, and wondered "why hasn't this been in our life before now?!" I used this peeler on some squash and it was a game-changer compared to that old knife-handle-style one. This was EASY to peel a big veggie with this. Later, my wife used it on a winter vegetable (like another type of squash) and exclaimed, "Our parents lied to us: why did they deny us this peeler in our lives?!" It's that good. It could change your life.

Sturdy, reliable
This is a great, reliable took to have in your kitchen. I replaced my very well loved version with this newer style and I couldn’t be happier. I host a lot and use it for meal prep quite a bit and it is sturdy and made of good quality materials.

Nice peeler
I like the design and feel of this peeler. Being dishwasher safe is a plus. I also like the cover that comes with it so after it is cleaned, you can put the cover back on without risk of cutting anyone’s fingers when they reach for it in the drawer.

Excellent tool
Very useful kitchen tool. This is a very sharp peeler. It’s good it comes with a blade guard when not in use. The wide width is great for peeling things like butternut squash. When you have to dig in your kitchen tool jar, you’ll be protected from cutting your fingers on the sharp blade.

Perfect Peeler
I live this potato peeler. I find it so much easier to use than a regular peeler and I feel like it covers more area of the potato than the up and down. Kind of peeler. To handle is really comfortable to hold and it is easy to clean.

Very Disappointed
The KitchenAid Y-Peeler was very disappointing. I’ve always found KA to be sturdy but I find this to be very cheaply made. I had to apply very hard pressure to peel my fruit and veggies and even then it doesn’t give you a very good peel.

It works, but would not recommend
This peeler is sturdy and comes with a protective cover, but that is where the benefits end for us. Due to the straight handle and the gap from the end of the handle to the actual peeler, it makes it difficult to have your hand on the fruit/vegetable and peel at the same time, especially if you have smaller hands (see photos). It works if you're able to grip it properly, but the awkward angle made it so I would not be able to peel a lot at once.

Best peeler I have owned
I love this peeler. It is nice and wide so that you can peel a large area at a time. It took less than a minute to peel whoke cucumber. The handle is angled which also makes task easier. It is lightweight but still feels study. I also like that it has a plastic cover for the blade.

Ok, but not my favorite
In our youth, when we were apartment dwellers, we didn’t have much of a kitchen, let alone sufficient kitchen tools. Once we acquired a home with a real kitchen, we realized it’d be pleasant to have more than one of some items. Not just one good knife, but a nice set of knives. Not just one wine bottle opener, but… well, you get the point. This particular peeler won’t be our preferred device, but it might serve as a suitable back-up. The ergonomics of the blade position is a little awkward. Seems to work best when peeling toward you, and I’m more comfortable peeling away. Just a preference thing, I suppose. If you twist your hands into a suitable position, you can still peel away from your body, but that’s what makes it less user-friendly for me. It will suffice as a secondary peeler, but I’ll only reach for it when our other one is in with the dirty dishes.

Basic peeler but works well
This peeler is your basic peeler with nothing fancy but it works well. I used it on potatoes and didn't have any issues and also used it on an apple. I like that it comes with a cover for the blade so that it protects it and also limits someone getting cut by it.

Great peeler
I got this to review and I’m happy with it. It seems sharp and I like this version better than the other types. Is easy to use and I’m excited to use it for all kinds of things while cooking different things!

Peel away
The peeler is great. It peels potatoes with easy. The head pivots to get every nook and curve. The Y shape of the handle doesn’t seem to be significantly better than a traditional peeler, but it certainly doesn't hurt.
