Description

A hearty hot bowl of Quaker Old Fashioned Oats goes great with everything - try topping with fresh or dried fruits or crunchy nuts. Even better, the goodness doesn't stop with the taste. Quaker Oats is 100% whole grains for lasting energy and may help reduce the risk of heart disease. 3 grams of soluble fiber from oatmeal daily in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce this risk of heart disease. This cereal has 2 grams per serving.

Our super grains contain all three parts of the grain kernel- the bran, the endosperm, and the germ. Scientists believe that by eating whole grains intact- the fiber, vitamins, and minerals within the grain work together- providing energy and nutrition to help you get the most from your day.

My mother started me on Quaker Old Fashioned Oats and it has been a staple in my diet throughout my life. Still do the original recipe throughout summer or winter and I am going on sixty eight years young.

Has a wierd after taste. Not the same as I had as a child. Or what I served my children.

Old fashioned oatmeal is my daily breakfast so quality differences are very clear when compared daily. I tried my local grocery brand and found every bowl I ate had at least 5 husks. It ruined my breakfast many days. My Old Quaker bowls rarely ever have a single husk. I really appreciate a brand that is truly giving their product attention to quality. I’m now very loyal to my Quaker Oats!

What happened to the texture?

My morning bowl of Quaker old fashioned oats has lost the natural texture I have grown to expect. My usual quick boil in very little water results in what looks like gummy mashed potatoes. Please...bring back the original Quaker Oats your customers have loved for do many decades.

I don't know why but for the last couple of months the oatmeal hasn't cooked the same. It mush and pasty and adding more water just doesn't help at all. It sucks because I eat a bunch a day to help me gain weight but this new stuff is kind of awful.

Quaker Oats presently is not the same as it was. Just twenty minutes ago, I made a bowl of Quick Oats using the cooking instructions on the box for one serving. It produced a cereal that tastes undercooked and far two wet.

Intruder507, we’re sorry your oatmeal didn’t come out like you expected. We’d like you to know, we haven’t made changes to our Standard Oats, such as our Old Fashioned and Quick 1-Minute. When you have the time, please send us an email at Quakeroats@casupport.com, so we can learn more.

The changed product

A few years ago I bought the usual Old Fashioned Oats and it was different. No flavor, texture more like pieces of paper cooked. Recently I bought a new box--surely it will be better. Well, it isn't--I cooked it for the recommended 5 minutes and it still tasted like pieces of cooked paper. Quaker oats--don't say you haven't changed it because you have and it is inedible! It has also ruined my oatmeal cookie recipe that I've made for 50 years. I've also stopped using your quick cook as it's texture and taste is horrible also.
