Q: Will this work with a 14 inch high mattress?

A: Hello, thank you for your question! This Murphy bed is designed to accommodate a mattress with a thickness of 8 to 10 inches. Using a 14-inch high mattress is not recommended for the following reasons: Storage Fit: The bed and mattress are meant to fold neatly into the cabinet. A 14" mattress is likely too thick to fit properly, which may prevent the bed from closing fully. Mechanism Strain: The folding mechanism is optimized for lighter, thinner mattresses. A thicker mattress may put additional stress on the lift system, affecting long-term durability. Functionality Issues: A mattress that exceeds the recommended height might interfere with the support leg or sofa alignment, impacting ease of use and safety. To ensure proper function and a smooth experience, we strongly recommend using a mattress within the 8–10 inch range.
