Q: I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the center pole to make this a cake carrier. It just keeps spinning.

  • A: Same problem! The "Targaret staff support" answer is usless. The pole does NOT screw into the flat plate. It is just a "jam-fit." I used a screw driver to loosen the pole from the bottom of plate.

  • A: I had the same problem. The plastic 'pole' has a threaded end that screws into the larger base, the one which reverses to a cake plate. So turn it counter-clockwise the way you would undo a screw.

    Great and versatile for the price

    I don’t bake a lot of cakes or cupcakes but decided to get this when I had to transport a cake for my mom. It’s so versatile. You can store muffins, cupcakes, small and bigger cakes easily. You can even pair a small cake with a few cupcakes. It’s easy to take apart and put back together. And it’s not stupid expensive like other cake carriers. The latches hold very well too. Glad I got it. Will probably mostly be used for breakfast muffins lol.

    Only good for cupcakes

    This advertises as reversible, for cake/pie and cupcakes. Notice none of the pictures show it holding a cake (which is the main reason I bought it). When you flip it over to use for cake, the whole thing balances on a tiny center circle which makes the entire thing unstable. If your cake is even slightly off centered, it will tip over!

    The one I bought had apparently been used and returned to the store. They put it back on the shelves without checking the item. When I got it home and went to clean it before using it there was old frosting still stuck to. I took a pic. I reached out to the store and didn’t hear anything back from them. Just be aware and double check even the sealed things now.

    Don't carry with handle

    Handle Can't be Trusted

    If only it had a sturdy handle. There is a lot to appreciate about this cake carrier, however, the handle broke after just a few uses. Thankfully it broke just as I was going to sit a cake down my wife made otherwise it would have been a disaster. I can trust this carrier to even think of buying my wife another one. If you only plan on using once, good luck, but if you plan to use multiple times, don't waste you money nor the time you likely but into whatever baked good you'd plan on transporting in it.

    Just as described.

    Holds an extra large bundt cake, and a 10 to 15 cake bundt cake pan. Great quality material, good value, very versatile for pies, cupcakes and other baked good. I highly recommend it.

    Not good for cakes/pies

    It simply doesn't work. You can indeed screw off the top tray and flip it over, as it says you can. But once you've flipped it, now the post is sticking up as I've shown in the picture, and you can't remove it, making this utterly useless as a cake holder. Probably works fine for cupcakes tho.

    love this cake carrier!

    I was a little iffy on buying this specififc cake carrier because the reviews are so mixed, but I really love it! At first I didn't know how to take the top cupcake rack off (thank you to the few reviews that old me to TWIST IT OFF) but once I got it off and flipped the bottom over to hold the cake, it was super easy! To everyone who is saying this carrier is not sturdy: that much be a user error because this carrier is very sturdy, great for holding heavier cakes as well, and locks tight! I also got a lot of compliments on the carrier itself, which I was not expecting lol. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
