Q: The twin size says that it’s 50 inches wide but a standard twin mattress is 34 inches. Is that sizing actually correct and there’s an 8 inch overhang on each side?

Wow! Who knew pigs really can fly!

I have become so used to buying junk, being disappointed, wasting time returning things that I honestly was shocked at how well made this headboard is. It's heavy, sturdy and hangs using a french cleat rather than ridiculous options like velcro and command strips. Don't use the enclosed hardware. Try to hit a stud with at least one hole and use molly bolts for the rest.
