Create a truly theater-like experience in your home when you add the HW-Q990D 656W 11.1.4-Channel Dolby Atmos Soundbar System from Samsung to your TV. The system is made up of a soundbar, dedicated rear speakers, and a subwoofer. The majority of your audio fills the room from 11 front-firing drivers, while four up-firing drivers and up and side-firing rear speakers work with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X support to immerse you in sound, even from above. Samsung's Spacefit Sound Pro feature calibrates and auto-optimizes this output based on your room, so you're always assured the best possible experience possible. The HW-Q990D is for more than action-packed movies though, Bluetooth and Tap Sound make it easy to stream your favorite music and playlists too. When matched with a compatible Samsung television, the HW-Q990D can utilize Samsung's Q-Symphony technology to work with the TV's built-in speakers as one.Both Adaptive Sound and Active Voice Amplifier help you to better hear vocals in music and dialogue in shows and movies. Adaptive Sound intelligently adjusts audio, even at low volumes. Active Voice Amplifier detects ambient room noise to optimize on-screen voices. Easily stream music through the system with Tap Sound. With a simple tap of your compatible smartphone to the soundbar, Tap Sound will pair them both and let you immediately play your favorite tracks and playlists.

Amazing!!!
I paired this soundbar with a Samsung 98” QLED, it is amazing, no need to go to the theater again! I read a lot of reviews on this soundbar before I purchased it. Quite a few mentioned that the bass from the sub was inadequate. To those of you that are not satisfied with your bass, relocate your sub to a corner of the room with the port facing one of the walls. You’re welcome!

Amazing sound, like a movie theater
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The HW-Q990D instantly made my living room feel like a legit home theater. The surround sound is so good, dialogue is super clear, and the bass hits without being obnoxious Setup was painless, the build feels premium, and honestly, it made movie nights way more fun. Any time I have guests over they are impressed. I love to show it off. I love this so much I bought it for my parents as a gift since they are movie enjoyers and needed to experience what this beast of a system has to offer. 10/10 system.

Paired with my 100-inch projector setup, it turned every type of content—movies, sports, gaming, and even regular TV—into a full cinematic event. The surround sound is unbelievably immersive, with precise directional audio that actually feels like it wraps around the room. Awesome clear sound

The dialogue clarity alone is far superior to what I get from my Sonos setup. It also pairs well with easy setup for my Samsung tv.

Atmos isna gamechanger

Long gone are those pesky fabric covers that were magnets for cat hair and difficult to clean. Connection was a breeze, and creating a stage was simple too. Just follow the instructions in the app and good to go.

Have to admit this system was not what I thought it would be. It is hooked up to our lg TV. I had been at a persons house that had a similar sound system that was hooked up onto a Samsung TV and it was amazing. Way better than this system is on the LG TV. But for the most part it is functional for our needs. Not going to buy a Samsung TV to get the same sound.

Also, the space should have been stronger to feel the whole room, which is my biggest complaint.

Samsung Q990D Soundbar - Amazing Sound That Makes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Samsung Q990D soundbar about a month ago, and wow, what a difference it’s made! My TV’s built-in speakers were okay, but this system takes everything to another level. Right out of the box, I was impressed by how sleek everything looks. The soundbar sits nicely under my TV, and it comes with a subwoofer and two small rear speakers that complete the setup. Everything connected wirelessly, which was great because I didn’t have to run cables all over my living room. Setup took me maybe 15 minutes, and the system basically calibrated itself to fit my room. The sound quality is absolutely magnificent. When I watch movies now, it feels like I’m actually at the cinema. Explosions have real punch, dialogue is crystal clear, and the surround sound makes you feel like you’re right in the middle of the action. I rewatched some of my favorite action movies and heard details I’d never noticed before. The bass from the subwoofer is powerful but not overwhelming - it adds depth without shaking the whole house. Music sounds fantastic too. I’ve been streaming my playlists through it, and everything from pop to classical sounds rich and full. The clarity is amazing - you can hear every instrument and vocal perfectly. It’s actually made me enjoy listening to music at home more than I used to!

Amazing Surround Sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded from a 700 series that just had the sound bar and sub. What a difference! This sound bar is noticeably bigger. Same goes with the sub. The two rear speakers are compact and have speakers facing in three directions. Setup was easy, I selected the Q symphony option on my Samsung TVs sound output and it connected to my soundbar instantly. The rear speakers did not connect at first (admittedly i forgot to plug them in) which required unplugging and replugging the sound bar and TV to get them to sync. After that, zero issues.

Why did I wait so long...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Q990D system has completely changed the game in my living room - causing me to fall in love with my exclusively Samsung component systems all over again and elevating the experience much more than anticipated. Although I am still dialing it in, the technology already built into it is making that part easier and fun as I find the sweet spots. I should have made the decision to add this sooner but now is better than never. This has just given me reason to look towards my next TV upgrade.
