Much too slow
This product is terribly slow when using it with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. It doesn’t seem close to the 2,000 mb/sec write speed claim. I hope I can get help to determine whether I am doing something wrong.

Small, fast, and bootable
This thing is small, fast, and large capacity. The spinning hard drive on my brother's iMac was going bad. Before it could totally go belly up we installed the latest OS on one of these, migrated his data on to it, and then booted from it without any problems. The machine is operating just as fast as before because of the USB 3 interface. Since he lives in a small town, he is running off of it until he can visit me in the big city to get an internal SSD drive installed inside his machine.

Not So Fast!
Please explain under what conditions you get 2000MB/s. Just do that in your advertising to be transparent. I have hooked several of these up to the latest Macs using Thunderbolt 4 cables and they don't even get to 1000MB/s using AJA System Test to check speeds.

Great external storage deice
Great external mass storage device. While this Device is limited by USB 3.2 Gen 2 x2 maximum transfer rates, Blackmagicdesign Speed Test demonstrates that it delivers 835 MB/s which is more than adequate for editing 4K video at 60fps. As I am actually interested in 1080p post-production, this very compact and apparently quite rugged mass storage device exceeds my needs. The device does get moderately warm when connected regardless of use. Surface temperature appears to be in the vicinity of 46ºC. However, this temperature is not normally dangerous. In terms of normal operation, the enclosure appears to be designed to dissipate heat in any normal human habitation.

Speed is great
This is my second purchase. Original was for travel laptop to hold new photographs. Latest is a clone of start up disk on desktop as backup. Both work as promised (mostly). (Achieving sustained transfer speeds always a problem with very large files.)

Bought two. One was great, the second less so.
I bought two of these in the same order through the Western Digital web site. One works great, so far. The second one kept going offline and would not format on my Mac. I took it to a second Mac and fiddled with it until it formatted, then connected it to the first Mac where it properly set up for Time Machine. It has been working fine since.

Sandisk extreme pro
I have never been able to get this to work. Software isn't compatible I have tried to use it 3 times now. From the time I opened the box brand new it said it was password protected. I had to call to reformat it. It worked that time then when I went to use it again it was password protected again. I never put a password in this thing. Had to call again. Lost anything that I put on it the first time because I had to reformat it again. Now it's just on my desktop empty and I can't put anything in it nor can I see anything stored on it. I guess anytime I go to use it I will have to call and reformat each time so I can loose more data. It was expensive, Its not user friendly and I wish I could get my money back. If you are thinking about buying this DONT they never updated software to work with the new Macs and their little work around doesn't work. Im VERY dissappointed.
