Half of the doorknob sent to me had the ability to remove the knob for easier installation. The others were fixed and didn't have this ability. They were the same model # too.

My only complaint - I do wish manufacturers could make the placement of the fasteners easier to access with a screw driver on the models with knobs like this one. Lever lock sets are considerably easier to install because of this.
