I tried the tape on different surfaces (window glass, door with enamel-based paint, refrigerator, vinyl siding) and it performed well. It is easy to apply and has a neat, clean appearance. The packaging says it is a permanent adhesive so I have not tried to remove it to see how difficult it is or if it will damage the surfaces. I would recommend this product.

I usually love 3M products but this is not my favorite one I have ever tried for several reasons. First, the label of "holds up to 15 lbs" is misleading. When you actually read the product usage on the back it explains that you literally need to use the ENTIRE roll to hold up to 15 lbs. Instead each inch only holds up to 1 lb each, so don't buy this if you have anything particularly heavy to hang with it. The other thing I didn't like was that the backing was very hard to separate from the adhesive without pulling the adhesive away. On the plus side, I like that this gives an option for another way to hang when it is too hard to hang with the usual methods or you are working on a surface that you can't nail into. It is also for both indoor and outdoor use which is a nice feature. So overall there are both pros and cons to this product.

This tape was a better alternative since I could attach it to a surface that could not be screwed into.I found an old towel hanger in the basement and decided I could use it in the garage. We have an old refrigerator next to the door that was the perfect place to hang this holder. Since I could not use screws to attach it, I decided this tape would be the perfect way to adhere the holder to the refrigerator.

I’ve so far used it to mount canvases and pictures to my walls, and after being up for over a month, have had no issues with things falling down! The tape is super sticky, so once it’s in place, it’s taking the paint off if you try to take it down, but at least that means my pictures are going to stay on the walls!

I also used it to hang some clear plastic protectors on the outside of my patio and storm doors. These panels protect the doors from my dog scratching them. This tape holds the plastic panels to the doors well, even out in the weather, and is clear, so it is not unsightly. I also used the tape to attach a phone mount to the dash of my truck. No matter how much I cleaned the dash, and I tried cleaners as well as alcohol and light solvent, but I could not get this tape to adhere well to the dash. It is a handy product, just can’t expect it to work well on all surfaces.

I tried multiple pieces and even tried scraping a knife up and down to get a small area I could start with. I thought it was user error until I read a few reviews and looks like I'm not the only one. If modified to be easier to remove the backing (I mean, with that kind of adhesive power, I'd be confident using it to hang something!) I would definitely purchase but as it is, it's a no.

It has significant adhesion on both sides. I think it is adequate to stick a sizeable picture on the wall. But the tape has too much stretch. Removing the protective strip pulls the piece of tape out of shape ( see pic). It is a bit difficult to stick it to uneven surfaces. It does perform well for repairs . I used it on a cookbook where the cover was loose. The roll was also a bit small for hanging a heavier picture.

However, as soon as I received the mounting tape, I was able to hang the picture without worrying about it falling down. The double sided mounting tape seems to be holding exceptionally well and I look forward to using it for other tasks, where a strong hold is needed.
