This says weekly, 1 time each week. After 2 weeks dandruff is gone. A pea size is enough for the scalp area. That is all you need. The flakes went away, I am going 3 weeks, and no flakes after using this. Not over washing with this or with regular shampoo. Also, cleaning your brush helps. Scalp maintenance is key with dandruff after using this. If you use too much it will burn. Again this is a treatment, shake and a pea size is enough. This is a one and done. I have used it when I had a lot of dandruff. It takes longer but 4 weeks was enough, 1 time each week. More dandruff does not mean more product. I have tried it out. 2 times a week may work, says on the label for others.

I’m sure it does work as the first time I used it I had significantly less flaking/dandruff. But quickly found out (remembered) by the second or third usage that this probably isn’t color safe. My colored hair started to look real brassy even in spite of using purple toning shampoo/leave in/hair mask. So gotta switch to something else to protect the pricey color investment lol. But if you have scalp issues, this is nice as it’s not anymore drying than other shampoos.

Strong,moisturizing flake free hair care.
Deeply cleanses the scalps and removes excess oils,very high ,thanks to the 1% selenium sulfide, best used twice weekly for maintenance ,noticeably flake free and hydrated hair due to the added aloe.

My husband has been using Selsun Blue Maximum Strength Moisturizing shampoo, and it really does what it promises. It helped calm his itchy scalp and noticeably reduced flakes after just a few washes. I like that it’s strong enough to handle dandruff but still has aloe, so his hair doesn’t feel overly dry afterward. The scent is clean and not too strong, and a little goes a long way. I wouldn’t use it every single wash, but for flare-ups or when his scalp needs extra help, it works well and gives real relief.
