Q: I bought a pair of these somewhere else, and they were fine for kitchen drawers, long-ways. I need some that are shorter. The packaging on mine says 5/8 x 17inch. Could someone please sure theirs from Target? Thank you so much!

A: I have purchased and the shortest these actually get is 17.75", not 16". They are too long for my 16" long drawers and so useless.

It will depend on the exact measurement of the drawer you are trying to fit. If your drawer is shorter than 16" they will not fit. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Not as advertised - shortest length is 18" not 16"
I have purchased and the shortest these actually get is 18", not 16". They are too long for my 16" long drawers and so useless to me. Uncompressed they expand to 22". As others have noted, the spring is really strong so they'll only work with sturdy wood drawers (not plastic storage bins for example). Very beautiful though - I bought to match with some other Target bamboo boxes and I wish they'd work for my purpose.

Works until you take it out
I bought two of these dividers for my kitchen and while they do serve their purpose, I ran into a problem when I needed to adjust one. The grip was so tight that the spring FLUNG across the room and nearly attacked me. I dont think ill purchase anymore from going forward.

nice, but not right for me
These dividers seemed like a good solution in that they have an adjustable length. However, upon sizing them to my drawer, I needed to scale back the length enough that the resulting tension when installed seemed to put too much pressure the back of my drawer. I decided to return them. Target's return policy is great so I will continue to shop here.
