This conditioner, formulated with Jamaican Black Castor Oil and fair trade Shea Butter, helps to nourish, moisturize and support elasticity to resist breakage when detangling. Conditioners provide a protective layer that improves the appearance of dry split ends. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience. Apply to clean, towel dried hair. Work a generous amount of product into hair from root to ends. Gently comb through for even distribution. Do not rinse. Apply additional product as needed depending on hair length and condition. The product is smooth and easy to use. It melts into your fingers and smells really good. Easy to apply and it does not leave a cast so it’s easy to wash off. Worth the cost and a must have for deep cleaning your hair

Been using this product since my HS days, and it still does its job every time. Perfect for the curly head girlies! The scent is also addicting like tropical. This product defines my curls wonderfully and keeps them in tact for DAYS! LOVE IT.

I swim in salty water almost everyday and I don’t use shampoo everyday but I usually rinse and use conditioner, but after I use this leave in conditioner… I’ve gone through 2 containers of this stuff and let me tell you my hair is full and healthy. I used to pull out clumps of my hair before using this. It was dry and dull before using this. Also 1 tub lasted me about a year so it’s not like I’m restocking every month. I love it so much I gift all my girl friends it.

My Go-To Leave-In Conditioner

Decent, but doesn't absorb well.
I've used this product for months now, and although it is moisturizing and conditioned well, it tends to sit on top of my hair rather than be absorbed. I could see little white dots left behind once my hair dried, and it was a fairly heavy product and weighed my hair down. For reference, I have low porosity 3a/3b curls. I don't care much for the smell, and it smells quite strong, but a little goes a long way, so it will last you awhile.

This is by far my favorite leave in conditioner. It moisturizes my dry ends, yet doesnt leave my hair too greasy. It works great on curly or straight hair, and is easily washable with water. It smells great, although this may be a problem for people who dont like fragrances. All in all, amazing leave in.

WHY DID THE FORMULA CHANGE??
I have used the JBOC leave in for literally almost a decade now and all of a sudden it’s making my hair frizzy? At first I noticed that the formula was white and it smelled more like perfume instead of play dough like it normally does. I was skeptical but I went ahead and used it anyway. I have NEVER experienced this with this leave in. I am sooooo disappointed that my favorite product has been changed with literally no consideration for the people using it. CHANGE IT BACK!

Dissapointed!
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this is the second SheaMoisture product I’ve tried that I really didn’t like. I had high hopes after enjoying one of their other products, but unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me at all. While it might be suited for a different hair type, I feel it’s important to share my experience. The scent is a major issue for me — though many people seem to love it, I couldn’t stand it. My hair is shoulder-length, straight with slightly wavy ends. The conditioner itself applied easily, it wasn’t too thick or too thin, but that sums up my positive experience. However, as a leave-in conditioner, it just didn’t work, it’s a failed concept to me. It was far too heavy for my hair type, leaving it feeling weighed down and greasy. My hair looked dirty and oily and glued almost immediately after applying it. Unfortunately, I won’t be using this product again, and I’ll be discarding it.

Made my hair a bird nest!
I put this leave-in after using the Jamaican oil shampoo and it dried my hair badly, destroyed my curls. After 20 minutes of applying it my hair was like a bird nest!! So dry and tangled that I had to cut it off ,very upsetting when its length was down my waist. I have fine very frizzy 3c curls hair and I had high hopes for this brand to work.
