This conditioner, formulated with Jamaican Black Castor Oil and fair trade Shea Butter, helps to nourish, moisturize and support elasticity to resist breakage when detangling. Conditioners provide a protective layer that improves the appearance of dry split ends. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience. Apply to clean, towel dried hair. Work a generous amount of product into hair from root to ends. Gently comb through for even distribution. Do not rinse. Apply additional product as needed depending on hair length and condition. This leave in conditioner and cruelty-free conditioner is formulated with no silicones, no sulfates, no parabens, no phthalates, no mineral oil or petrolatum. I have used the JBOC leave in for literally almost a decade now and all of a sudden it’s making my hair frizzy? At first I noticed that the formula was white and it smelled more like perfume instead of play dough like it normally does. I was skeptical but I went ahead and used it anyway. I have NEVER experienced this with this leave in. I am sooooo disappointed that my favorite product has been changed with literally no consideration for the people using it. CHANGE IT BACK!

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this is the second SheaMoisture product I’ve tried that I really didn’t like. I had high hopes after enjoying one of their other products, but unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me at all. While it might be suited for a different hair type, I feel it’s important to share my experience. The scent is a major issue for me — though many people seem to love it, I couldn’t stand it. My hair is shoulder-length, straight with slightly wavy ends. The conditioner itself applied easily, it wasn’t too thick or too thin, but that sums up my positive experience. However, as a leave-in conditioner, it just didn’t work, it’s a failed concept to me. It was far too heavy for my hair type, leaving it feeling weighed down and greasy. My hair looked dirty and oily and glued almost immediately after applying it. Unfortunately, I won’t be using this product again, and I’ll be discarding it.

I put this leave-in after using the Jamaican oil shampoo and it dried my hair badly, destroyed my curls. After 20 minutes of applying it my hair was like a bird nest!! So dry and tangled that I had to cut it off ,very upsetting when its length was down my waist. I have fine very frizzy 3c curls hair and I had high hopes for this brand to work.

By looking at the list of ingredients of this conditioner, on this website, I was so excited to try this conditioner. So I went and bought a jar, the problem is the ingredients differ on the jar I bought. They differ in ingredients listed and in the order they appear on my jar. The major difference is, the the jar I bought has "fragrance (parfum)" as an ingredient but I don't see that listed here. Thankfully, I did not open it and hopefully they will reimburse me. I didn't expect to have such an ingredient in a so called "clean product". Please be FAIR in listing the ingredients here. Therefore, I rate this product ZERO since I will not get to test it unless I find a jar like the one pictured here on this site with no "fragrance (parfum)" in it.

I've been using this leave-in for year and it's in rotation with another leave-in. This leaves my 3bc curls soft. I use it right after washing and conditioning, and before applying my hair gel. One of the few products left from SM that they haven't negatively tampered with. Highly recommended!! Especially, if you need a little boost of protein in between your protein treatments or their Bond Repair masque.

This is a must-have in our hair care routine. I love the story behind this product, and what it does to help nourish our hair. The consistency is creamy and absorbs well into the hair. The scent is ok, I appreciate that it isn’t loaded with tons of perfume instead of the scent of the real ingredients. Finally, I would recommend this for dry hair that is more on the coarse side, fine hair may look too weighed down, but it is still healthy to use if you don’t mind that.

Changed my hair life. I have dry frizzy hair and could not leave the house without styling it after washing. Always had to use heat tools to maintain the frizz. Since using this product, I can go 7-10 days between washes and don’t have to touch my hair with heat or dry shampoo between. It just gets rid of my frizz and lets it air dry perfectly. Don’t need a lot of product either. I have been using this since January 2024, and still have over half a tub left in August 2024 (and I have long thick hair) Would recommend 10/10.
