Carton of Silk expanded
1 out of 5 stars
Momma - 9 days ago
One of the cartons had expanded walls, indicating temp increase, resulting in forming bacteria- in had to throw it out. The store should probably check their remaining stock of vanilla silk

Oh no! We're so sorry to hear this Momma. Please hold onto the packaging and reach out to our team here: https://silk.com/contact/ so we can make this right. -Priscilla at Silk
Used to work great for frothy lattes - no longer

For a long time, this was the only "milk" I used for my cereal, and ABSOLUTELY for my frothy lattes. It worked perfectly until the last couple of months. Don't know if the manufacturer changed the composition or what. My main use was for the frothy lattes but it no longer works like it used to. Company won't respond so I will respond by buying other types of non-dairy milk.

I discovered Silk organic unsweetened soy milk in June when my son made me the most delicious espresso topped with rich foam. I was sold and have been using it since then. Yesterday, I bought a half gallon, made coffee this morning, and couldn’t wait for the nice foam it creates. Well, that didn’t happen. Tried again, nope. Check date. Shake more vigorously. Nope. Check my foaming machine. Nope. Returned for another half gallon and the same thing. Watery, flat and not the same product I’m accustomed to. There are other reviews online saying the same thing. Maybe it’s quality control that’s not noticing this, but it needs to be fixed. It’s such a great product to not be consistently dependable. And, it’s expensive.

I love this soy milk, it has a very creamy mild taste. I prefer the unsweetened for all of my milk needs. It does not bother me rme as other dairy alternatives do, and is the closest in creaminess to actual milk tha I have found!
Love it

I will never understand why everything plant based milk at Target is just oat milk. It's like the great corn lobby and pointless ethanol in gasoline. Some industry insiders are just jumping on the oat milk thing for reasons unknown to me. Honestly oat milk tastes bad. I've had some good oat milk ice cream but haven't found a single oat milk I will buy. Now, Silk Vanilla soy milk has been a staple plant based milk for a long time. It's a good one. Yet, here we go with Target disappearing this one just like they did with Ripple Vanilla. I really don't want to have to shop somewhere else, but that's the direction Target is sending me when they disappear good products. At least I can order Silk Vanilla for delivery. I hate oat milk. I'm going to try more of the oat milk options at Target, and if it tastes wrong to me, I intend on getting a full refund for each and every one! Target you could just keep the better plant based options in the store!
This is a great milk for foaming… until it isn’t.

Randomly won’t foam - some batches foam great, some not at all. So frustrating - manufacturer hasn’t addressed this ongoing quality issue despite it going on for 6+ years.
1 reply from -Angie at Silk team - 2 months ago
Hi Matt! Many consumers, such as you, have a great outcome when it comes to frothing, others may not have the same outcome. After extensive research, we can conclude that frothing isn’t something we produce the product to do. Because there are so many variables when it comes to frothing, we can’t guarantee the product will froth with every batch produced.
My favorite!

I drink this all the time, honestly better than the sweetened versions since it’s more versatile. Nutrition label seems pretty good.

Best milk on the market, I’ve been drink this milk for about 8 years now, along with my family. Were all lactose in my family, this is the only milk that settle nicely in our stomach. I love the red silk box, the green one, and the blue vanilla one is great for tea (Royal Milk tea!).

Love this product! Am not sure how long it has been made, but have used it for quite a while. Use it mostly on any cereal, and have used it as a creamer for my coffee. Thank you, and hope this isn't discontinued from your line.
Giant price increase not worth it.

Love the soy milk, used to buy it every week. However the price jump by almost $2 overnight is crazy ($2.99 to $4.89). Are you importing it from China? I am now buying something else.

This is the only unsweetened soy milk I buy. Ever since I heard that dairy milk is bad for you. I’ve been looking for alternatives. It took me awhile to get used to the taste. Now, I love it. I use it on tofu banana smoothies. I usually buy two cartons a week. Silk has the best unsweetened soy milk.

I’ve been drinking this in lieu of cow’s milk for a year or two and really like it (now cow’s milk tastes so ick to me) It’s easy to find in our local stores and is tasty and creamy and all the things I want for my lattes, cereals and recipes.

Raised price like 2 dollars more than used to be. I knew it would happen. Now it is same price as publix sell theirs. So no more of this product for me. Too bad so sad.

Silk organic unsweet soy milk is really good. I like that it has 7 grams of protein in 1 cup and it tastes really good to me. I usually use it with my morning oats and it is great. I like the unsweet version because it does not have any added sugars. It is expensive though and that is why I am deducting 1 star.
