Q: Does the ready-to-use Similac Formula need to be refrigerated at all the times? I am asking this because I am planning to travel with 2-month-old baby and the flight is pretty long.

A: Once the 2 fl oz bottle has been opened and poured into your baby’s clean bottles, both the formula in your baby’s bottles and any left in the 2 fl oz bottle should be refrigerated immediately and used within 2 days. If your baby doesn’t finish a bottle of formula within one hour, throw it away. When a baby starts drinking from a bottle, bacteria that are naturally present in your baby's mouth enter the bottle through the nipple hole. If any formula is left in the bottle after the feeding, these bacteria will grow in the leftover formula. Refrigerating the bottle and reheating it later will not stop the growth of bacteria. Ingredients are great for your infant. Once open you do need to refrigerate and all must be used within three days. This is great for on the go on vacation or a day over at the grandparents.

My grandson took to this Similac when switching from nursing. This help calm my daughter in knowing that she was still able to bond with him while bottle feeding. He is handling this product so well with hardly any spit up but he does like to toot! Happy baby= Happy Daughter!

Awful milk. I bought it thinking it was going to be the same one as they give in the hospital (my baby girl loved it) but it wasn’t. She started drinking it two days ago and she started having diarrhea, gas, and a hard tummy! I felt so bad. Specially with a 10 DAY old baby!!! DONT BUT THIS product. I re ordered the ENFAMIL milk is much better than this.

My son has been using this formula for many months now and does fine - apart from some regular spit ups (we've tried Pro Advance and Pro Sensitive as well, but this one has been the most tolerable). However, there is one MAJOR flaw in this product. It does NOT dissolve easily. Whether you use warm or cold water, doesn't matter. It always leaves lumps behind that then clog the bottle. If you keep shaking it forever, it will dissolve but result in SO MUCH foam and bubbles that baby ends up being super gassy. For lack of better options, we're sticking with it, but definitely unhappy. Every feed is a monumental task of "just enough" shaking / swirling to dissolve, minimize bubbles, keep taking breaks during the feed to unclog the bottle due to lumps and then deal with baby's gassiness.
