Somehow trash cans can be superior and inferior. I like how short this one is to fit under an overhanging peninsula. The slow close is nice. I really just wish the bags weren’t specialized. A normal 13-gallon fits if stretched, but it’s not ideal.

Wasn’t convinced we needed this, but after fixing the bag several times each week in our other trash can I bought this one. Worth every penny! This is the second one we have purchased.

After about 2 years the top plastic lid has snapped on one side and will not lift when pressing the pedal. This should not happen for an 80$ trashcan.

Peddle pivot point broke

This is my second one, the first one lasted a little over 10 years. I opted for this one again since it’s durable plastic and doesn’t dent like the metal ones. Also it’s easy to clean and looks amazing. Deff one of my favorite trash cans. I especially like the No slam lid and that it has real metal lining not just painted silver on it. Great product overall.

This garbage can doesn’t last. Our previous non name brand garbage clan lasted years. Also, it has a weird edge that grime always gets built up and then the hinge area is exposed to that too. Overall, not a fan.

Came unboxed with trash inside of it already

It’s our second one. We had one for 6 years and loved it. The lid finally gave out and wouldn’t open all the way.

Only lasted 2 years, very disappointing. The mechanism to lift lid connected to pedestal broke.

Really good basic garbage can. You can’t dent it, easy to keep clean and doesn’t break the bank. Most third party bags will fit it. We like the damped closing lid and the color blends in with our kitchen nicely.

I’ve ordered three of these, two for shipping and one for curbside pickup. They’ve all been dented and scratched up.

Not worth the $80 - It sticks on the right side every time we use the pedal so we just open it manually 😡

I did a ridiculous amount of searching for the right trash can. After my toddler discovered how to throw things away in our swing top trash can, we realized we needed to buy a new one asap. I hated how expensive trash cans are but also wanted to get a decent quality that could last us. Even though I loved the look of an all stainless steel one, I read several reviews about them getting dented, potential rust, finger prints, etc. I took a chance on this one since it was a combo of plastic and stainless steel and it’s perfect! Looks great in the kitchen, functions well, sleek look against the wall. 10/10 so far. Hopefully it continues to work and stands the test of time.

I purchased the Gray simplehuman 45L Rectangular Liner Rim Plastic Step Trash Can in-store back in May 2023. I purchased this item inititally, as I was looking for a rectangle trash can where the lid would not hit a back wall, make noise, or be a general annoyance. This is posted in June 2024: It came with a few starter trash bags, specially made to fit in the back for easy use. It also came with a discount code to purchase online the special bags. They make it easy to identify which bags are the best fit for your trash can. I used the discount code and purchased a large stock of special fitting trash bags- this was a great discount and smart purchase. You can never have enough trash bags, as they will eventually be used. I have not had a single trash bag tear, leak and it is easy to fit the bags around the inner lining. They do not show undernead the top cover! I love how this trash can has been able to stand up over the last year, and it is simple to wipe down, and get any small crumbs out for cleaning. I do not have any issues with the foot pedal, no annoying noises, no sticking. I appreciate how when you need to open the top for access to the liner, it will lock in place. No lids falling on your hands if you need to get to the base! I have zero complaints about this trash can and have honestly been thinking of looking into other trash cans from this company, simply because I have had this for over a year and cannot believe I finally found the 'perfect' trash can for a small kitchen area. I only hope that I will be able to find another discount code when I will need to restock on specialty trash liners again- I do admit they are overpriced and specialty items. While these are not necessary- for me it is one off the things that makes this trash can so easy to use. The longevity of the trash can, makes it great even if you won’t be using the special bags.

Love the look of this trash can. And the soft close lid keeps my kids from slamming it.

The best trash can! We’ve tried Target brand and other simple human trash cans and this one is the absolute best. Super easy to put on the bag and easy to get it out. It is wide, so it can hold a lot of trash. It also looks great! Worth the price and I got it on a decent sale price.
