Q: What is the height of the opening between where the box spring + mattress combo should seat and the beginning of the headboard. I want to make sure the combo does not cover the headboard.

A: The distance from the bottom of the upholstered headboard to the metal bedframe where the box spring sits is approximately 18". The combination height of the mattress and box spring has to fill in this gap.

Q: can this bed be used with an adjustable base as opposed to a box spring?

A: Our beds are designed to be used with a standard mattress and box spring combination. Customers in the past have successfully used adjustable beds. However, we cannot guarantee it would be compatible, due to the wide variety of adjustable beds in the market.
