sensitive stomachs
This iron supplement is the only iron supplement that my sensitive stomach can tolerate. I have GERD and my stomach could not tolerate the regular form of iron. I was miserable when I took a regular iron supplement with having stomach pain throughout the day and a painful like acid feeling in my stomach all night long. I lost majority of my sleep with dealing with stomach pain. with Slow Fe, I am able to go on with my day and not feel stomach pains. Slow fe is a definite win for those with gastrointestinal issues like me.

plastic packaging is hard to open
Seems to be ok for me stomach wise, but I hate having to get a scissor out each time I take this. The paper backed plastic is hard to open. I will switch brands when I finish what I have.

Caused stomach cramps and constipation
I am so disappointed with the slow Fe as this caused me to have severe constipation. I was diagnosed by my doctor after blood work to be anemic and this was what my doctor recommended I take to increase my iron levels. After reading the other reviews I was feeling good about trying it. It caused me to become severely constipated for 3 days and have severe stomach cramps and become bloated. I only took it for 2 days and it took almost a week to recover back to feeling normal. I am back to square one now trying to figure out what to do to increase my iron levels as I cannot take this product. Also as others mentioned it is extremely difficult to open and I had to cut each one open with the scissors very carefully. If you have any problems with your hands or fingers this is not going to work for you.

TALC RED DYE
Was recommended this for my pregnancy however upon reading the ingredient list it has TALC in it. And red dye #40 which both are banned in Europe. I don’t need my iron pills to be red.

Best iron supplement
Slow Fe works relatively quickly. I always develop anemia while pregnant and this helps within the first 5 days of taking it. I take them before bed on an empty stomach. After 5 days my anemia induced insomnia calmed down, dark circles were less noticeable and my energy levels were up. I definitely recommend this brand.

Pregnancy anemia
Worked great for helping out anemia I developed while pregnant. I like that it didn’t have a bunch of extra vitamins added like some other iron supplements. And easy on the tummy!

Up and up
These contain talc. The target generic brand of slow release iron doesn’t. I went with the target brand.

Contains talc
Contains talc and it does not say the talc is USP grade (which would mean it's been tested to be free of asbestos.) Talc can be contaminated with asbestos. It's not just breathing asbestos that's dangerous - it's been proven to cause cancer of the genitals when applied there and according to a mesothelioma website ingesting asbestos is linked to digestive cancers. So I'm not sure why anyone would want talc in their daily vitamin. There are many other iron supplements that don't contain talc and all the chemical dyes of this brand.
