Q: What is the difference between S1 and S2, besides the price? Does one have different features that the other does not?

A: The S1 is battery powered for portability. The S2 is reliant on being plugged in.

A: Hi KMG! The S1 and S2 each have their own features as well as similarities. First, the S1 Plus is portable with a built-in rechargeable battery and weighs 3 pounds. The S2 Plus weighs 2.5 pounds and is not rechargeable but can be used anywhere with the 12-Volt Power Adapter. Spectra also offers a 12-Volt Vehicle Power Adapter so both the S1 Plus and S2 Plus can be powered inside of your vehicle. Both pumps deliver hospital strength performance and each pump comes out of the box with everything you need to get started single or double pumping.

A: You'd have to buy a power adapter that lets you plug it into your car. There is no battery backup in the S2.

A: Great question Nicole! You can purchase the 12 Volt Vehicle Power Adapter to power the Spectra S2 Plus in your car. The Spectra 12 Volt Vehicle Power Adapter is specifically designed to power the S2 Plus model and properly deliver the correct amount of voltage to the motor for maximum power and efficiency. The Spectra 12 Volt Vehicle Power Adapter is designed to power and charge the S1 Plus model inside of a vehicle as well. Have a wonderful day!

A: Hi Qian. The Spectra S2 Plus is not battery operated or rechargeable. It comes with a 12-Volt Power Adapter that can be used in any 100-240 volt U.S.A. wall outlet. We also provide a 12-Volt Vehicle Power Adapter in case you need to operate your pump inside of your vehicle. We appreciate your question.

A: No. This model is soley eletric powered and has no battery. However, the SL1 model (it's blue) does have a rechargeable battery. I will say yu can't go wrong with this pump. I had medela and it stopped working after not even 1 month of use. This system is closed so no milk can get into areas it shouldn't. I wish they were around when I had my first.

A: No, but one can be purchased. I can tell you from experience this pump works better than any of the pumps that come with a bag. And at this price buying a bag separately isn't a problem.

Q: is it really as it says in description hospital strength or grade? I'm not producing much milk cause baby is 9 month old but I want to start pumping and see if I can get it back as it used to be.

A: Hi! Great question! Wide-neck bottles are compatible with Spectra baby USA flanges. The Spectra Small to Wide Neck Milk Bottle Cap Adapter is sold separately and can convert standard narrow neck bottles for direct pumping. Extra bottles can make pumping more convenient! Good suction, but it has no durability. I used mine a few times a maximum of 10 in 40 days of purchase and this stopped working properly. I'm very disappointed with this pump !!! don't waste your money and your time . believe me look for something else .

Pump is great. You don’t need to spend the extra $ on the coverage target offers. Spectra has its own warranty that comes with your pump for 2 years after purchase and 90 days for the pump parts.

I loved everything about this pump. A thunderstorm fried mine one night and a new one was too expensive to get when I only planed to breastfeed for 4 more months. There are minimal parts, very easy to clean, can switch speeds with one button and it has a timer! I also love how accessible extra parts are. This pump is all around amazing.

Strong suction more milk faster

I was using the Ameda mya joy free with my insurance and liked it but I was struggling with producing enough so a new year came so I could get another pump and this spectra changed my milk production. I was getting about .5 oz more each session. Don’t forget the flanges and duckbills will wear out and need replaced. I have an inverted nipple and the suction is strong enough to help pull it out and I think that’s why this one works better.

I got this pump when I had my first baby. I used for one year and, after I was done pumping for her, I put it away. I had a baby this year again, and got my Spectra to pump for him, and was surprised to see my pump was not working as it should. I was getting very little milk while pumping with it. It got to a point where I was getting no milk while pumping with the Spectra, and getting milk while pumping with a manual pump. I contacted customer service and they didn’t do anything because Spectra only offer a 2 year warranty. My pump is older than that, but was only used for one year before it broke. There wasn’t even an offer to fix it. So, I do not recommend. Especially if you are exclusively pumping, because this pump won’t last you long.
