Q: Does it work better then the original Elvie?

submitted by Nancy - 1 year ago
  • A: Willow Go lets you pump totally hands-free and untethered, but isn't totally leak-proof (especially if you're leaning far forward or back). Willow Go holds 5 or 7oz (7 oz containers sold separately). Willow Go is the more affordable wearable pump from Willow with hospital grade suction. Choose from 6 levels of suction in Stimulation and 9 levels of suction in Expression for maximum output. Hope that helps! If you'd like more info, onewillow.com has a great comparison chart!

Purchase warranty if you are interested in this pump

The pump worked great for only 2 months before my pump went out. Luckily I purchased the warranty and have started a claim with them. It’s very inconvenient for your pump to go out if you solely rely on this pump. I would suggest a different brand if you are looking for a portable pump.

The first two times i used it i wasn’t too sure about it but after playing around with the settings i was able to see what the hype is all about. So i would say it takes a little practice to get used to it but it is amazing once you do! The battery life is also great so far. The only minus is that it does not come with the double adapter to charge, you have to purchase that separate.

I like the convenience, but I wish there were less pieces to wash and that there was a plug in the milk spout.

Not Equal Pumping Time

They are difficult to snap together and get to stay together at times. My right pump one lasts approximately 45 minutes and my left will last approximately 75 minutes and customer service was unable to help me out with them being so different on how long they each last after a full charge. They had me run through a bunch of different troubleshooting that I had already tried prior to calling customer service.

Not what I thought

I dont Think this pump is for everyone. It started off great but one month into it my output dropped significantly. I replaced the parts even though I was Only pumping once a day to create a stash for when I travel for work. This didn’t help the output and actually created so much stress and anxiety. I ended up buying a more traditional pump (Spectra S1) and the volume of output tripled instantly. I wish it was more effective but it isn’t. One other thing that negates the convenience it is intended to give you is you can’t lean forward because you will spill all your milk through the top opening so it’s difficult to lean forward to pick up your baby or do a lot of things around the house. And if you lean back while trying to pump in bed or in a chair the milk will not go into the container but rather leak into the flange.

Life changing

I started out exclusively breast-feeding and it would take me 40 minutes at least to feed my son and it was taking away a lot of valuable time from my three-year-old daughter. I always wanted to cry. I just felt like I was not giving her the time she needed nor myself the time that I needed. One day I decided I’m done breast-feeding I’m going to try pumping and I pulled out the willow pump and my life literally changed. I was a happy person again. I did not need to be on an anxiety medication. This changed my life and saved my life. I make just as much milk as I would if I was plugged into a wall pump. I actually think I make more because I forget that I’m pumping and I’m not stressing about it . I am able to get so much done with this. It gave me freedom and It’s my biggest advice to anyone who plans to breast-feed or pump. Get the Willow Go!!!

Does the job

My biggest complaint is the hole in the top where you pour the milk out. If you lean over while pumping or wearing the pump, it will spill out. It doesn’t come with charging cubes/blocks and it does come with two different cords (one for each pump) so I ordered a double USB block for it. I wish you could turn them on from the app. Maybe all these complaints are fixed by the Willow 3.0, Idk.

I stopped pumping with my 2 previous kids bc i felt so locked down to pumping and was over feeling touched out. This pump has made it so much easier to going back to normal after my 3rd! i can pump and bottle feed at the same time and go anywhere and pump.

I don’t like that I have to have my phone in order to see how much time and what level I’m on. I have other pumps that I paid a lot less for that work better. I wouldn’t buy this again

I love my willow, I pump more than my wall pump with them. The only thing I hate is that you can’t bend over in the willow go, It makes doing house chores while pumping hard. I didn’t get the original willow because it doesn’t hold as much and it’s way more expensive.

I purchased various different pump before trying the Willow Go. Wearable pumps just didn’t seem strong enough for me but this one merged that gap. The only pump I ever use now is this one!

I really liked this product. But after 3.5 months of use my right side suddenly stops working. I’m not doing anything different with it and it’s worked fine up until now. Of course I didn’t get the warranty.

I love the concept of a portable pump, but honestly they don’t empty as well as they should instead they clogged my ducts by putting so much pressure being in my bra.

At first, I though we made a mistake by getting this pump, especially once our son ended up in the NICU for a bit and I used the hospital grade pumps there. After being home, I continued using the Medela pump before trying the Willow.I thought that the Willow was only suited for later use and to be honest, I also was a bit intimidated by the technical side of it, like setting it up through the app. My concerns were unfounded: The set-up took less than 5 minutes and it would've been even faster without the app which is not required for the pump to work. I also get a ton of milk with this pump but I am lucky and have a good supply so can't speak for everyone. All in all, I highly recommend the pump. It works and is so much more pleasant than a pump which forces you to sit in one spot, connected to wires.

Game Changer

I was nervous to try this pump after reading that the wearable pumps can’t compare to the double electric stationary pumps. I have elastic nipples and was struggling with finding the right flanges and pump settings to remove my milk. After dealing with decreased milk output and nipple damage I decided to try the Willow Go and was shocked to find how comfortable and effective it is. I was able to downsize my flanges and have gone from struggling to pump 3oz to mindlessly pumping 4-7oz per session with the freedom to pump while doing other tasks. I’m using this as my primary pump and couldn’t be happier!
