Rechargeable and compact, the Spectra® SG Portable Breast Pump provides breastfeeding moms exclusive mobile technology, individually tailored pumping sessions, and independently adjustable settings for each breast. Spectra’s SG Portable design utilizes one separate battery-operated motor for each breast and is independently adjustable. Q: does this have the night light like the S2?

A: Hi C. The SG Portable doesn't have a night-light, but the LED screen is "backlit" and does help in dark places.

Q: I have the Spectra SG that plugs into the wall. How does the suction on the portable SG compare to the plugin pump? I read in another review on this website that the suction was not as good as the S2.

A: All Spectra electric breast pumps are considered hospital strength which means that they have suction of 250+mmHG or higher. The Spectra S1, S2, SG & SG Portable Pumps all have a suction of 270+mmHg. The Spectra 9Plus has a suction of 260+mmHG making all of our pumps hospital strength.

Q: Do this pump plug into the wall as well as has the ability to be wireless, like the S1?

A: The SG Portable Double Adjustable Breast Pump has a rechargeable battery like the S1 and 9 Plus breast pumps. All three Spectra Pumps can be used plugged in or wireless once the battery has been recharged. The S2 and Spectra SG breast pumps can only be used if plugged into an outlet.

I’ve been exclusively pumping for almost 3 months, and this has been a lifesaver. It fits easily in a fanny pack, and with a pumping bra I can be hands free to do chores or bottlefeed my baby (frustratingly ironic, but here we are). Suction is great- it empties me in 15 minutes (6-11oz per pump), and with the right flange size it’s comfortable. It’s also quiet. I recently bought the Cara cups to pump more discretely in public. They also work great, but are way too many parts to clean for everyday use. I wish the pump had an auto shutoff for when you want your pump session to end, and the power button on the back is annoyingly hard to find. Otherwise this pump is perfect!

I am shocked by the bad reviews. I was an exclusive pumper and plan to be again with this baby. This pump was the best pump I’ve ever used and really grew my milk supply allowing me to pump minimally with maximum output. I was a just enougher before this pump and after this pump I was able to freeze 20 oz extra a day. I also only needed to pump 10-14 mins to be drained with this pump where as other pumps I’d have to pump close to 30 mins every time.

This is not as powerful as the S1 or S2. I never saw more than 2oz even after 30 minutes of pumping vs. 4oz in 15 minutes with the S2. The fewer settings/options really make a difference. Save your money and go for a classic!

Stopped working after a month, with no visible fix. First the right side went and then the left a week later. Suction lessoned and caused a dip in my milk supply, luckily, I had a backup pump.

i like that you can customize settings for each side, and after youre done pumping and turn ig off, when you turn it back on it saves those settings for you. I used spectra S2 with my first pregnancy and with my second baby im loving this one so far. Also my insurance tricare paid this completely for me! It empties each breast in 5-8 minutes. Its portable which makes pumping on the go much easier anywhere im at. The battery lasts me about two days. Also i pump directly into the kiinde milk bags with an adapter. So convenient!

My husband surprised me with this early on in my pregnancy. I was so excited. I had my son in September and have been using it since. Worked great until the right side stopped pumping, a month later! Called for warranty and was told I need proof of purchase. Well my husband didn’t think to save a receipt from April for now. So I was told there’s nothing they could do. No help. So disappointing and I’m so sad! This isn’t a cheap item to replace!

This pump is my favorite. Perfect suction levels. Happy that it lights up and shows the time pumped. I use my Medela parts with it. Would definitely recommend and there’s a lot of pumps that have not worked for me!

Not one complaint. LOVE this pump. I previously had the S2 and also have the Elvie. This pump empties me in 5-8 mins, love the portability and it’s small size, and the different settings for each side is very nice. Would recommend again and again!

I exclusively pumped for a year with my last baby, so I have used SEVERAL pumps & brands. I have used all of the Spectra pumps and my favorite was the SG. So when I saw that spectra brought a portable version of the SG pump to the market, I bought it when on sale and pregnant. Just gave birth to twins and have been using this portable SG when not BFing the twins. The ease of being able to take it on the go without having to find a plug in is a lifesaver. It’s compact and fits easily in our diaper bag without the bulkiness like other pumps. Very quiet & the different settings for each side is so helpful!

I absolutely love this pump! It’s super small and easy to walk around with/take places with you, the battery life lasts a long time, it’s powerful enough and empties my milk very efficiently plus it’s a beautiful shape and color! Only thing I had to change about it was buying a few sizes down on the pumps! Can’t say enough good things!

Empty’s me out in 7 mins! I had an elvie and it would take me 15-20 mins to empty me. It’s super cute and works well with the suction. I would highly recommend. The battery last a long time with out having to plug it back in. It’s awesome you can adjust each side because of the dual motor. Nice for the slacker side. Super easy to clean with only 3 parts.

The suction power on this device seems to be less than the Spectra S1 model. I didn’t even get a full oz after 10 minutes of pumping. It also could not initiate a let down. I went back to my S1 and immediately got 2 oz and a let down in under 2 minutes. Wish i could return.

Definitely an improvement over the s1 or s2! I love the portability, and I love how much smaller it is and easier to carry around. It's powerful and emptied me in 20 minutes versus the 45 it usually takes with my s2. Definitely worth the price!!
