Description

Keep your loved ones safe & secure in style with the Ingenuity Doorway 42W Series Dog and Baby Gate. Measuring 30" tall, this dark brown metal safety gate conveniently helps contain children and pets while complementing your home dcor. Our Hold-Open and Auto-Close technologies add convenience as you navigate your home. When opened more than 90 degrees, the door will stay open. When engaged less than 90 degrees, the door will close. Two included extensions help you configure the ideal setup for spaces from 28-42 inches wide. Install it in doorways or hallways quickly & easily using the included no-drill pressure mount system with adhesive wall cups that help protect your walls from damage. Or, use it at the top or bottom of stairs with included hardware (required for safe stairway installation). Recommended tools for hardware installation (not included): drill, Phillips-head screwdriver, pencil, measuring tape. NOTE: When installing the gate, do not cut the red zip that is tightened around the swing door until instructed to do so in the Instruction Manual.

Mixed reviews since I bought two

I bought two of these. One works really well. The other had already cracked which makes the gate not always work properly. Also if you just let them go they close pretty hard so watch out for little fingers.

I bought this gate when it was only $40. I would not pay full price for it. I'm not sure why I was thinking the whole thing was metal, but it is not. The decorative door is plastic, probably making it easy to be broken (has yet to happen).

Cheap junk do not buy

This is not a safe baby gate. The center is flexible plastic that is held in by tiny screws. It would not take much from a toddler to destroy this gate. I was expecting a firmer center piece, even if it's plastic. It was easy enough to install and it will work until the new one I ordered arrives. I am very disappointed, my other summer gate was wood and metal and so much better.

Safwty fwature doesn's last long

I ordered of these. I originally liked the look and the safety of it, however, one of the 2 was bent and became completely useless and the other one stopped attaching to the safety latch metal at the bottom and the red attachment after a couple of weeks. I already had it mounted to the wall with the adhesive this is sooo inconvenient! I’m super disappointed. Otherwise the appearance is beautiful which the only reason for the 2 star.

Great gate

This is a great gate to use at the top of the stairs- when you use the adhesive backing and drill the gate "holders" into the wall. After you tighten everything it is solidly installed. It's also good because the opening mechanism isn't obvious, and the toddler in my home hasn't figured out how to open it.

Not Worth It

Do not buy this baby gate. After 1 year the latch is completely useless and I have a toddler running around at night. Cheap.

Sturdy, reliable, toddler and babt proof

Quality gate for a great price. Toddlers can push and pull on it all they want but it takes someone much stronger than they are to be able to lift and pull it open. Happy with my purchase.

Can't even use it - don't bother buying it

I received this gate from my registry and when I opened it, the gate door was bent. It was brand new out of the box and is unusable. Then the store won't let me return it either.

I bought this gate 2 years ago . I love the gate but it broke last year. I have trying to replace the piece that broke. It has been difficult to due. I have been trying for a year. 😒

Watch the installation video!

Before attempting installation, watch the manufacturer’s video. I think a lot of issues other customers have can be traced to not watching the video to see how tightening the bolts aligns the gate securely. This gate is great. It feels tough and there is zero chance our toddler is getting through. Installation was easy and took about 20 minutes using the provided tools and accompanying manufacturer video. I have zero issues with the fit or alignment, but again I watched and re-watched the video making sure I securely tightened the end bolts.

Noooo! Worst gate ever!

Dont be tricked by the design. It looks nice but this gate is the worst. I've installed 2 of them which has taken over 90 minutes. They will not align or stay aligned. It's on perfectly straight and level with the cups and this thing will not align and close. Terrible gate.

Does not fit 38" opening

This gate will NOT fit all openings between 28-42", despite the advertised specifcations. There are widths that fall in between 0/1/2 extensions that cannot be accessed because the screws have less available travel than the width of an extension. Since this gate cannot be installed in my 38" opening, I am returning it.

Not Sturdy

If you're looking for a sturdy gate this is NOT the one. We haven't had the gate installed for no longer than 12 hours, and my 13 month old has already figured out how to open the gate door. The gate looks nice but that's just it.

This is a pressure mounted Gate, so you want to make sure the top two tension bolts are the same distance apart from each other and the bottom two are the same distance apart from each other. The Gate also must be flush with the floor. Once properly installed, it will close.
