Directions

Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply: after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating; immediately after towel drying; at least every 2 hours. Sun Protection Measures. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.

Dries Lips Out

I love Sun Bum sunscreen, but this missed the mark. It is very liquidy once you apply it and it instantly dries your lips out. My lips were more chapped 5 minutes after applying than they were prior. I also still got a sunburn on my lips.

Disgusting...do not buy please...

This SPF lip balm is awful. It has a horribly bitter taste and such a strange chemical flavor. The second I applied it, my mouth felt disgusting. I literally kept wanting to spit because the bitter taste would not go away. Then there was this random sweet aftertaste that made it even more nauseating. It tastes like straight-up additives and chemicals. I have no idea how anyone can keep this on their lips.

Fave SPF lip balm

I’ve used a lot of SPF lip balms because I burn easily, and this is by far my favorite. It goes on super smoothly and doesn’t feel gross/greasy like other sunscreen lip balms do. Super moisturizing and protects from burns when it’s really sunny out. Also no horrible sunscreen taste that lingers all day. I use this for myself and my little kids even tolerate it too.

Coats your mouth/throat and tastes awful

I wanted to love this because it tastes/smells really nice when its just on your lips and I like the spf. But somehow it ALWAYS gets into my mouth and throat and then it tastes bitter and awful. I have never had this issue with other chapsticks. While it technically works fine otherwise I would keep that in mind before purchasing.

Use this if you want your mouth to taste like sunscreen

Okay, so I really liked the hydration from this lip balm, it's probably one of the best I've used over the years. Unfortunately, this stuff made my mouth taste like sunscreen, and it was like I drank a bottle of Banana Boat. I tried to brush my teeth and use mouthwash, but nothing got rid of that nasty taste in my mouth!

Runny, seeps into your mouth

The consistency of this lip balm is one of the more unpleasant I’ve tried. It’s super runny and seeps into your mouth almost immediately, leaving a gross chemical taste in your mouth. I had to chew gum to mask the taste after applying. I got the coconut flavor because I usually love the taste, but this wasn’t very good.

This lip balm gets 2 thumbs up!

My daughter’s lips got sunburned at a softball tournament about 3 days later and non of our lip balms seemed to help her lips. I got her this today and her lips already look sooooo much better, even though we used it after the fact. Warning - if you don’t like the smell of coconut, this chapstick is not for you!

The worst!

Terrible taste, you can’t avoid this not getting in your mouth since it’s so runny. Just nasty and I immediately got a headache from all the scents. Was gonna use this on my kids, glad I tested it first! Will be returning!

Do not buy

The taste of this lip balm is horrible. I originally bought so it would be a backup in my purse, but it’s not even good for that. Throwing it away after using a handful of times.

Beware

I rarely leave reviews but want to caution others from buying this product. I use Sun Bum sunscreen on my family, but I was the only one using this SPF lip balm during our time in Florida. I am the only one in the family leaving with painful and blistered lips. Sounds like I am not alone in my experience. Something isn’t right with this product. Beware.
