Q: Can the iron be easily reset once the auto shutoff is triggered? There doesn't appear to be a power or reset swtich and jiggling the iron does not seem to work. Thanks!

Q: I've used the iron on steam twice and both times after about 10 minutes of ironing the light starts blinking. There is plenty distilled water in the iron and I'm using the correct setting.

  • A: I do a lot of seeing and quilting, and I almost always buy irons that have the auto shut off feature. When the iron is inactive the lights blink. This one shuts off in 30 minutes.

It worked BEAUTIFULLY for a few weeks and the died. Was suprised at the low quality for the moderate price. Wouldn't produce steam or heat up at all after 3-4 weeks! I reached out to the company for a replacement. Good iron but broke waayyyy to fast for an appliance from a very good brand.

Doesnt heat

This iron doesn’t even heat. I spend A LOT of time with ironing 1 piece because it doesn’t remove the wrinkles. I didn’t buy it because of the steam so I didn’t even use it. I can’t return it since I throw away the ticket. But I will buy a different branded different iron for sure and throw this one away.

Auto Shutoff TERRIBLE Feature

The auto shutoff kicks in at 10-15 minutes ~ even when ironing. Indicator light starts blinking, cooling down begins. Motion does NOT activate the iron to heat up again. The plug MUST be unplugged and plugged in again from the wall. Ongoing (aggravating) process while ironing several shirts or pants (Not the iron to purchase for sewing projects). BUT . . . The auto shutoff is HORRIBLE! Not worth the headache & frustration.

Another cheaply made and poorly designed item to waste your money

It worked great at first. The top point gets into tight spots and the amount of steam removes wrinkles and creases quickly. The auto shut off every five minutes is frustrating. It doesn’t turn back on with changing the iron’s position like most irons I’ve had, it needs to be unplugged, and plugged in again each time it auto shuts off. The dial popped off after a couple of months of use. I tossed it in the trash.

The first 2 times using the iron did not get hot at all- then the third time, got so hot on the Cotton setting it melted through a shirt ruining the shirt and the iron. Do not waste your money!

This iron is garbage. It shuts off after a few minutes, you keep having to unplug it and plug it back in. Total waste of money, junk product. I want my money back!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS IRON!!!!! YOUR PRODUCT SUCKS SUNBEAM!!!! I would not reccomend this item and if I could give it 0 stars I would.

Sunbeam Steam Iron - A Total Bust

As the other reviews indicate, the iron turns itself off after a few minutes. I have had this iron less than a month and called Sunbeam about the manual not being complete, the iron turning itself off, and a blinking light ALL not covered in the instructions. Sunbeam told me the iron is designed to turn off after it senses no activity after a few minutes. So while ironing a shirt, once you go to hang it up, the iron will automatically sense no movement and turn itself off. Also, Sunbeam Customer Service didn't address the blinking light, indicating that they will send information to my email to address the issue. I think Target should take items such as these (poor quality) off their shelves. I'd rather have my money back than get another cheap iron which turns itself off. I would rate this no stars if I could and zero value as an iron which doesn't work properly isn't worth a penny.
