We design the moisture level to maintain cloth wetness throughout the entire package. To maintain moisture, ensure the tub lid is closed properly. Usually, pressing all four corners of the lid down with your fingers will result in a good seal. You'll hear a click when the package is closed. When storing your wipes, be sure to avoid hot and humid conditions as this may cause them to dry out. We don't recommend adding water as this might contaminate the cloths and affect their performance. Make sure to unfold the cloth and ensure enough material is tucked into the grippers; the green strip on the cloths should be around the edge of the Sweeper head. As well, use both hands while mopping. One hand should be placed on the top of the Sweeper and the other should be about halfway down. This allows you to put more downward pressure on the Sweeper head to help keep it flat during use. We're sorry for this confusion, Jen, but when the Wet Pad is correctly put on the Swiffer Sweeper, the scrubbing strip is supposed to be on the top of the head. When you get to an area that needs a bit more power, flip the head over and use that strip to work it off the floor. Then, turn the head back over and mop away any residue and remnants of the area.
