It is a Dutch pot, and it is non-stick. I've only used it a few times, and so far, no scratches. It's not heavy cast. It's really hard to tell if it was worth the $30 I bought it for at this point. If it lasts a year, no scratches - then yes.

I bought this pot for Christmas, and I leave it till now to use it. But as I opened the package, I am negatively surprised. The pot is dented on the handle side. As one may observed from the pic, the right side is not round shape at all. It seems the pot is flatten by some strong external force. The no round shape makes it impossible to be closed by the lid (see the other photo). There is clearly a gap which makes the lid unable to cover the pot, leaving large space. I checked that the pot nonstick is new, so it means it is flawed when it is packaged. A pity I need a pot for the Christmas.

The pot is nice. I have always liked t-fal products because of the quality of their products. The price that is being charged for this pot I expected it to be heavier than what it is. The pot is a little under 5 quarts. I measured it by taking a 4 cup measuring cup and pouring water into it, which should be 5 - 4 cups of water equaling to 5 quarts. When filled to the top all the water from the last cup wasn't able to go into the pot. I still had a little water left. The height of the pot should have been taller. If I am cooking a recipe that call for 5 quarts. I do not want it filled all the way to the top with the risk of food boiling over.. Like I said it isn't a full 5 quarts. I have another brand 5 quart pot and it is taller and a full 5 quarts. T-fal needs to look into this and make the height of their 5 quarts pots taller and heavier.
