The Casper Essential Cooling Foam Pillow - King

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this pillow so much! It's firm but plush and it definitely has a great cooling effect. I'm typically a pretty hot sleeper but this pillow stays cool throughout the night and is so comfortable.

Very comfortable, supportive and does great to eliminate the heat away from your head and face while you sleep. This is the second one of these I've bought and I sleep much better with this than any other pillows in the past.

I'm a devoted Wirecutter reader, so I was very disappointed they dismissed this perfect pillow without testing it. I'm a flipper: toss and turn all night. I bunch and fold regular pillows to get more support and they're always too hot. Not this one. Why pay $150 for a solid foam comparable that you can't return if you hate it? Bought this on sale a year ago. Wears well. My pillow for life.

It was a nice cooling pillow, but the hardness wasn't for me. If you like a pillow to keep its shape, this is the pillow for you. It just doesn't work for me. I like my pillow hard but also to have a little give where I can melt into it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super hopeful for this pillow! Foam, cooling, all the goodness! Unfortunately it’s VERY stiff and solid. I didn’t expect it to be almost like a rock when I was first receiving it. It is cooling and nice to use as a structural pillow when I make my bed, but it’s about 6” thick and hard, so not the most comfortable to sleep on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Casper pillow has become my favorite of all time. I use it on my bed when sleeping, I use it when lounging on the couch. It’s the firmness I had been missing. I no longer wake up with pain from using a pillow far too soft. It’s cooling and comfortable. It has a good weight, is durable, and hopeful it lasts a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you like a firm pillow you will like this one. It’s firm while also being squishy/contouring. Honestly it was hard to notice the cooling aspect. I couldn’t tell a difference. I had my husband try to see if he could tell if he felt that it was cooling as he usually runs hot at night and he said he couldn’t tell either. So if your really looking for cooling I wouldn’t go for this one, but if your looking for firm while being comfortable then I’d recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great firm pillow. Typically I get medium firmness pillows but this one is very sturdy and still has give to it. The pillow is also cooling which is nice if you live in a warmer climate. I highly recommend!

I’m side sleeper and didn’t like it at first, but then I tried it behind my other pillow and it’s so amazing. I love it. It cools and doesn’t loose shape. The packaging was super cool, it was rolled up and then went flying out. It shaped in moments. I love it thank you.

It’s great for every sleeping position and it’s firm but conforms to the needs of the head and neck. The material is cool and breathable so the pillow never needs to be flipped in the middle of the night.

I feel like side sleepers such as I have a harder time finding a pillow that works because there is a fine line between support and pain. When I took this pillow out of the box it felt like a giant marshmallow. So nice!! When I first laid my head on it, it felt divine! However, the problems for me started once I slept on it. While it feels like a giant marshmallow, it also allowed my head to sink too much so I didn’t have the support I needed to align my spine while I slept. I didn’t wake up feeling injured like some pillows make me feel, but I also don’t feel as nice as my current pillow set up allows me to feel. For a back sleeper or stomach sleeper I think this would be a great pillow option! Just not the best for me personally being a side sleeper. I will say that the cooling function works great! I tried it without a pillowcase to limit confounding variables so I can’t attest to it working with a different case on it, but with the pillow being naked it was like always getting the cool side to the pillow without having to flip it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pillow is the perfect size for my bedroom. It has a great bounce back on the memory foam, and there was absolutely no sense. The shape is very dynamic and the packaging is really simplistic. 10 out of 10.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Casper pillow did not emit any odor at all when I first got it, and I have been using it for a few weeks now. I tend to get hot when I sleep, and the pillow did keep me cool throughout the night without me tossing and turning. However, I thought the pillow would be plush and soft, but it’s actually pretty firm. As a side sleeper, that firmness surprisingly did feel supportive, which kept my neck comfortable through the night. So far, the foam has still held its shape without falling flat. The removable fabric cover is convenient; I just tossed it in the washer, and it came out clean without shrinking or losing its shape after drying. All in all, the pillow's performance makes it my top pick for my sleeping style and comfort needs.
