Q: So are u meant to put sunscreen after or before?

submitted by Toby - 2 years ago
  • A: Hey, Day routine should always have sunscreen last. Night routine , moisturizers are last.

submitted byKW - 2 years ago
  • A: After. In almost every situation sunscreen should be the last item of your beauty routine.

submitted byCate - 2 years ago
  • A: You’re supposed to put sunscreen after using this product it’s like you put sunscreen after using all other skincare product.

submitted byMarjahan - 2 years ago
  • A: I’m hoping there is more in it than it feels. I’ve already used a tiny dollop twice now and I am already having to shake it like a conditioner bottle…

Q: does it have fragrance

Q: Does this help with rosacea?

submitted by VRRH - 1 year ago
  • A: Yes it can be helpful for managing rosacea symptoms - especially redness, uneven skin tone! Love it!

submitted byGeorgia - 1 year ago

Q: Does it help with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation?

submitted by Yasmin - 2 years ago
  • A: Yes! It works by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production, which helps fade dark spots caused by acne or inflammatory.

submitted byGeorgia - 1 year ago

Q: Is it best/meant to be put all over the face or just on acne spots and blemishes?

submitted by em - 2 years ago
  • A: All over your face. I apply it at night after I apply my vitamin c & 3% hylaronic acid and before my moisturizer. It helps so much with my acne & even my acne marks. My 14 yr old uses it too.

submitted byMS - 2 years ago

Q: Should I apply in morning or at night or both? If morning, should I apply moisturiser after this? Same question for night routine

submitted by Keyuri - 2 years ago
  • A: Moisturizer is always last, for the morning though you’d put moisturizer and then spf, but I’m ngl I always forget spf (which is not good at all). If you have spf then your morning routine would end with moisturizer and then spf, but at night (or if you don’t have spf for the morning) your last step is moisturizer

    Amazing

So i saw mixed reviews and decided to try it. After reading up i found it I needed a barrier before applying (what does that mean?). I use a moisturizer then wait for it to dry the apply a small amount then after it is dried apply the other moisturizer I have. I don't use it everyday ( your not suppose to) but I use it when my skin is irritated or I see any acne about to form and let me tell you it works WONDERS

Good for trying out Azelaic Aid

The Ordinary's azelaic acid (AA) is great if u want to try AA and see if it works for ur skin issues (acne, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, etc.) w/o spending much at first. The texture isn't my fav, but I found I could make the silicone-y, powdery feel disappear if I applied it after using my Colourpop vitamin C face oil serum. I doubted whether the texture would work w my foundations (CG Simply Ageless skin tint and Bare Minerals Original powder). I wasn't comfortable w/o my face oil under the AA, but my foundations were fine when I used face oil. The Ordinary's AA really helped prevent pimples forming around my mouth, which causes hyperpigmentation. Really great results. However, when I finished my Ordinary AA, I was ready to try the Anua one bc I don't like the slight, chemically burning smell (not actually burning, just the smell). The texture change was also a big bonus. The Anua one doesn't have the smell and absorbs easily. It is 2x the price, but from my use so far, I think it will last 2-3 longer than the Ordinary's bc u need to use a lot less of a serum in volume compared to a paste. So cost per use is about the same or better w the Anua.

    Rosacea and Hot Flashes (yay)

I've not tried any prescriptions for my rosacea and I've never met anyone with worse than mine. I figured I'd live with it and cover it. Started perimenopause and it was like rosacea didn't take a holiday. Everything I've tried with The Ordinary (five products so far) has worked. It's taken a long time for a company to get it right in both potency and price. This cream is the only product in my 27 years with rosacea that has worked. It stops it by 85% (from my very first use) and reduces the redness from my hot flashes by more than half. If applied first, there can be a pilling issue with other products. All I do is let it dry for at least three minutes and there's no pilling. I'd use a lot of exclamation marks, but I want you to really hear me... It has changed my life.

Very little product in the tube

I purchased this on July 20th, and here we are a week later and I am squeezing the last of it out of the tube, which felt pretty empty to begin with when I first got it. I use my products sparingly, and this shouldn't have run out in one week. I doesn't seem as though there was an ounce of product in the tube. There's not enough to use to say whether this product makes a difference or not.

    Drying

Immediately made my face feel tight and dry. This feels like pure silicone- it is not a cream.

Loved this product but my bottle was mostly air

I have been used this product for a little less than a week and it's been awesome. The catch - I was using it last night and a BIG air bubble came out and it's almost empty. I have used a pea sized amount twice a day for less than a week.

Cleared up Redness, irritation, and texture

I have had some redness and texture on my cheek that nothing was helping. After a bit of research, I decided to give this a try. less than a week the texture has evened out, my skin doesn't feel angry, and the redness has gone down. I am very pleased with this purchase and will keep it in my rotation.

    Disappointed in this product

I love most The Ordinary products but this one did not hit the spot, primarily because there is hardly anything in the tube. It also can only be put over a moisturizer, and cannot be used as a base whatsoever, including for make up because it pills and creates an unflattering appearance. If it were in it a larget tube with product filling the tube, I'd probably have given it a 4 star, but it was mostly air in the tube.

    Left skin smooth but tingly

I'm very neutral when it comes to this product. Was using it for a few weeks and I did notice my skin was a lot more smoother to the touch and more supple but it also left my skin tingly after using the product.

I wish I'd found this sooner

I have combination hormonal acne-prone skin and I'm a licensed esthi. While I was in esthi school my barrier was suffering a bit, I was trying to re-introduce retinoids, and then unexpectedly in school we had to do 2 exfoliating treatments in a row including a chemical peel.... my skin reacted badly with a few cysts. I needed to give my barrier time to heal and then reintroduce a gentler active to help, and I chose to use azelaic acid. I started seeing results in as little as a week! It calmed my inflammation and prevented new breakouts. It's been a few months since that big breakout and now my skin has stayed calm thanks to regular use of azelaic, and I've been able to successfully reintroduce my retinoid too. And I've had no issues with the texture of this product. Love it!

Love this stuff! Goes on smooth and helps control oiliness. No issues at all with pilling, as others have said. (maybe using too much?) I’m on my 4th or so tube of this. Lasts a good amount of time. Highly recommend.

    Great For Rosacea

I have both rosacea & acne. I have a prescribed cream I use twice daily. I use this along with that cream. Both of those combined help my rosacea & acne to the point that I no longer see any significant issues. I highly recommend this if you deal with redness!
