Yes, the Therabody Wave Roller needs to be charged before it can operate, as it runs on a rechargeable battery to power the vibration therapy.It is a battery-operated device (it uses a $12\text{V}$ internal lithium-ion battery) and must have a charge to perform its function. Initial Charge: While new devices often come with a partial charge, it is best practice to fully charge the Wave Roller before its first use to condition the battery and ensure you get the full $3$ hours of battery life it is designed for. Charging Indicator: When charging, the LED light on the power button will flash until it reaches a solid green light, indicating it is fully charged. The package includes the necessary power adapter for wired charging. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Meh, its ok
I bought this after using my co-workers Hyperice one - which is so nice and IMO much more effective in hitting those sore spots than this one. Price point is much lower of course and still gets the job done.

Bought this together with the Theragun ProPlus and couldn't be more pleased
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this - I think this is far better than just a typical foam roller. I helps loosen up muscles after a good workout. Very glad I bought this product. I ordered this together with the Theragun ProPlus - was a bit hesitant given the overall cost together, but now I wish I had done this far earlier. Great products - no complaints at all. If you're on the fence, I think you'll find that you really like this.

My Patients would love the wave duo as I do too!!!
I have been telling my patients about this wave roller as I have one and have been using it for myself... then I brought it to my office and had my patients use it and the response was so favorable that they want me to order them one... I am a sucker and said I would but, really, I also gave them the website info for the exposure of other options of what Therabody has to offer... I care about my patients and will always suggest tools that can help them help themselves...

Excellent for lower body
I purchased this roller to help my lower body - specifically for my legs' IT bands. I was pleasantly surprised at how effective it is. I recommend that people try it as a supplement to take care of their bodies so that recovery is very effective between workouts.
