I wanted to love this, and we did for about 10 minutes! But then the remote stopped working to convert it, drive, or turn right. Now it will only turn left and talk. My son was soooo excited to get this for his birthday and now I feel so bad it doesn’t work.

needs rechargeable battery
cool toy, kids love it and it's fun to play with. only reason for the 3 star and not 5 star is because it doesnt come with a rechargeable battery. kinda dumb they didnt take that into consideration when designing this toy. the batteries drain really quick

My 7 year old is really gentle with toys generally. She and her 8 year old friends really find this toy fun. We bought it when it was originally priced at $39.99 and further reduced when on sale. Don’t think if it’s worth it at its current full price ($59.99 as of 1/1/26) if you have kids who are rough on toys because of the potential to break.

I did get this one sale during Black Friday, I had low expectations but it was a cool try for Christmas. It really exceeded my expectations, it converts easily and isn’t nearly as clunky as I assumed it would be. Very cool to any age transformer fan. Our 5 year old loves this! It also came with batteries already, which made it fun right out of the box as a parent to hand over.

This toy Transformer was a hit with the kids!! This was the go to toy after all the presents were opened and my kid 11 yrs old played with a 4 yrs old who had one too and went crazy!!! Even though the 4 yrs old struggled a little to use the remote, he figured out how to make it go and transform. The was so amazing to watch and its moves and spins the same whether Optimus Prime is standing or in truck mode!! If you did not buy this for christmas you need to go get one!!!! Best toy ever in a long time!!! And its a RC toy too!!!! The best 80's nostalgia ever!!!

Great Idea, Terrible Execution
Two Strikes, We’re Done We bought this Transformers Optimus Prime remote control toy for our son’s birthday, and it was a total letdown. The first one was defective right out of the box It wouldn’t even transform. Target replaced it, but the second one broke shortly after we started using it. For the price, you’d expect much better quality. It’s incredibly disappointing to give a child a gift they’re so excited about, only to have it fail not once, but twice. Save yourself the frustration and skip this one.
