[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'd always heard rave reviews on the classic Tribest horizontal juicer. So after returning the Nama J2, I figured I'd try this one out. After all, it's Tribest. Unlike the Nama, this one definitely has no issues with juicing pineapple by itself, which for me is the bar of any juicer. I'm very happy about that. What I don't like at all are the attachment parts. 1. I have such a difficult time putting it together for use and taking it apart to clean. It's very stiff and awkward and actually hurts my hands from the force I have to use sometimes. 2. I know it's a compact model, but I'm shocked at how small the part is where the fruits and veggies go into. It's so narrow! The produce has to be cut so small and even then I feel like I have yo force it through with the white pusher. 3. Based on how far down the white pusher goes, I don't believe it was especially designed for this model. It actually touches the part that spins so I have be careful to not push it down too much while still making sure to get the fruit down to be juiced. Is it enough to make me want to return it and go back to the drawing board? More so yes than no.
Great juice, hard to ckean

We love the juice that our solostar 4 produces. We run the pulp through a second time to squeeze everything out. However, veggies have to be chopped to process and the screen is a pain to clean.
Convenient. Easy Storage. Quick Set Up. Easy Break Down and Clean Up . Excellent Machine.

I bought my Zstar Manual Juicer almost 10 years ago and after finding out that the SoloStar was a compatible machine that could interchange with it, I was happy to purchase it. The good thing about buying the SoloStar was that it made my juicing experience go faster than using the hand-crank juicer used in previous years. I already know how good the SoloStar is from the years of experience using the manual version of it, the Zstar, which now makes my cooking experience go so much faster. Instead of steaming spinach as the ingredient for lasagna, it's put through the SoloStar to be macerated, keeping in all of the goodness and used in a raw form, in the dish being baked. After having years of good satisfaction with the Zstar, the electric version can only be as good or better because it's not only made by the same company, but the parts are just as good, and in my case, as a full-time cook, will be much faster. I'm looking forward to some good and satisfying experiences using the SoloStar.
Completely Impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although I have only used it once so far, I'm completely impressed by its ease of use, efficiency, and simple cleanup. It really did take me by surprise because I thought it would be much more involved. The juice extraction was superb. I used very little produce and got 16 oz of juice. Absolutely wonderful. I am so glad I bought this item

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Solostar 4 is fantastic. I have an older Greenstar original but it's so heavy and takes a long time to clean. The Solostar 4 was rated one of the best for juicing wheatgrass and I have to agree, it is the best. So easy to use and set up, and so easy and fast to clean. Just go for it, you won't be disappointed.
Great Juicer!!! Highly Recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great juicer love how much it produces from the fruit and vegetables. We actually re-juiced the pulp and got a little more from it. Definitely worth getting. You won’t regret it!

So far, very pleased. Having previously used Omega masticating juicers, I find this one to produce drier pulp while having a screen that is more time-consuming to clean. Make it meditative, it's fine. While the screen locking cap and funnel atop the auger housing have popped off during juicing a few times, I attribute this to long juicing sessions on a wooden surface that may vibrate as the machine operates- minor annoyance. The juices have all been beautiful and fresh as can be. Like it so much that I've purchased one for a friend!

A snap to put together after the first time! (Make sure the grate is put in with the word “upper” at the top—-though customer service was quick and helpful in helping me see the error of my ways.) I have done crunchy stuff like carrots and yams, soft fruits and cucumbers, tough limes and oranges with the peel and stringy celery. All worked well if the pieces were cut small enough. But it is not a big deal to do the cutting as the machine just keeps on chewing up what you feed in with a very satisfying chomp-chomp action. ( I guess that is why they call it “the masticator”!) I gave it 4 stars because the grate is a work-out to clean- even with the brush that came with it.
Love the end result

Been juicing Kale, Celery , Cucumber and Oranges. Works pretty good and is quite solid. If you are switching from a Ninja Personal blender be ready for more time cleaning a juicer - Tribest. Even though my cleaning time and prep time has increased I love the end result from Tribest !!

This juicer is in the TOP 2 of my fav juicers! I alternate between the SoloStar 4 and SlowStar. I’m a Holistic RN and teach classes and juicing as well as plant-based nutrition. I juice over 32 ounces of pure Celery daily (consumed separately) plus a green juice with cucumbers, asparagus, greens, apples, etc. I also juice 5 lbs organic ginger every 5 months to freeze in small ice cube tray for easy use in our morning quart of honey/lemon/ginger water for liver rehydration and support. Juicing WHEATGRASS? This is the one for you if you cannot afford the GreenStar. This juicer is also comparable to the Omega recommended by the Medical Medium in functionality and price. I trust Tribest for quality and service! I like to assure my clients and friends get the best product and instruction for successful juicing. I also recommend adding the GS038B XL Cleaning Brush for each juicer purchase from my clients for it's durability and ability to clean the juicing baskets of fiber as well as all parts. Since late 2015 I’ve followed and recommend the Medical Medium lifestyle wholeheartedly for gentle and full healing of any condition! had for about 6 months now. juiced beets, carrots, spinach, wheatgrass, cucumbers, kale, bittermelon, ginger, lemons. It works like a billy goat. Never had a problem till last week, was doing some bitter melon and cap and auger housing broke apart. May have been that the melon was partially frozen, I got a little carried away and overfed it. I've used this thing daily and have put some serious force on it and never had a problem till this time. I was worried since never actually registered it. I called the customer service center in CA. They registered it and sent me new parts right away. Very happy with the customer service, refreshing to know a business takes care of its product/customers without a hassle. No more cleaning hassle then my centrifugal juicer.

Overall this machine takes a lot of time and patience since it juices very slowly and is laborious to clean up but that is probably consistent with this time of juicer. The bigger problem is the Operation Manual which gives very little guidance on how to use the machine; especially the recipes. I put a handful of roasted almonds in my machine (some of the recipes call for 2 cups of nuts) and the machine literally exploded and the end cap flew across the room like a bullet from a gun. Fortunately for me, no one was standing in the path of it and no furnishings were damaged. I'm still nervous to use the machine though. Thankfully, Tribest customer service was very responsive and replaced the broken parts (everything but the motor itself). I don't normally write reviews but the more I think about it, the more I feel like this Operation Manual really needs to be improved and more detailed and specific instructions included. It does not currently mention a word about how to use the homogenizing feature. Someone really could get hurt. And Tribest, please send me any updates you make because I still feel like I don't know how to use this machine.
Awesome machine but do not attempt to make grape juice.

It does make great rice cakes! However, I shouldn't have tried making grape juice with this machine as the seeds ruined my blade and it's only been a week since I bought the solostar 4 :(

Very good machine. Does carrots better than other masticating juicers and of course leafy and fruits just fine. Easy to clean as well.
