Q: Would these be safe to use on diy baby blocks that may come into contact with a baby’s mouth?

submitted by Mnvikings - 1 month ago
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. uni POSCA markers are water based. Although they are non-toxic, the paint is not permanent on non porous surfaces and could be ingested if in contact with a baby's mouth. We would not recommend using uni POSCA markers on baby products that may come in contact with a baby's mouth. uni POSCA markers is safe to for use by children but should always be supervised and should avoid contact with skin and clothing due to potential staining.

Q: Are these markers permanent or will it wash out of clothes?

submitted by MKT - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi, thank you for your question! uni POSCA markers are removable on non-porous surfaces and permanent on porous surfaces. However, the paint is water-based. Some of the paint may wash out but leave some residue. If paint gets on your clothes and needs to be removed, you can pre-treat the stain with a stain remover or liquid detergent and let it sit for about 10–15 minutes before washing. If you are looking for a more permanent solution for your clothing, we would not suggest using a water-based marker. However, depending on the fabric type, it may be more permanent since some fabrics are more porous than others. It's always best to test a small area before usage. Good luck on your project!

Q: Can you use on cars?

submitted by Alicia - 5 months ago
  • A: Hi Alicia, thank you for reaching out! POSCA paint is permanent on porous surfaces and erasable on smooth surfaces. It can be removed from a smooth surface such as the car window, however, we can't guarantee it will come off completely if there are any possible porous areas within the car's surface such as a scratch or crack. Removing dried marker that has been present for a long period may take another agent to remove such as soap or alcohol but these may not be ideal for the car's paint. The marker can be used and removed safely from the glass of the car, but as mentioned, the longevity of the marker may require another cleaning agent and/or a rubber scraper to assist in its removal. It's best to always test on a small area on any surface in question prior to usage.

Q: Will they easily come off of glass?

submitted by Kaydeng - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi Kaydeng, thank you for reaching out! Yes, you can use Uni POSCA markers on glass without causing damage. POSCA markers are water-based and non-toxic, making them safe for various surfaces, including glass. The paint can be easily removed from glass with a damp cloth or soapy water. For stubborn areas, you may need to use another cleaning agent such as glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol. However, it's always a good idea to test on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure it cleans off to your satisfaction.

Q: Can they be used on chalkboards? Like at a restaurant?

submitted by Mads - 6 months ago
  • A: Hi Mads, thank you for your question! Uni POSCA markers can be used on chalkboards. POSCA markers contain water-based ink, making them erasable from non-porous surfaces like glass and smooth chalkboards. POSCA markers can be removed using water or a damp cloth. However, they may be more difficult to remove from porous surfaces. If you plan to use POSCA markers on a porous chalkboard, testing them on a small area first is a good idea to ensure they can be easily erased.

Summary of reviews

These paint markers are a hit among young artists and craft enthusiasts, offering vibrant colors and a smooth application. They are particularly loved by children for their ease of use and mess-free experience. While some guests find them a bit pricey, the quality and longevity of the paint are generally appreciated. However, the initial paint flow can be messy, and the lack of a fine tip may limit their use for detailed work.

Work beautifully! The only thing is some of the colors may gush out when activating them the first use. The colors are vibrant and thick. Layer on perfectly. No running or blending of colors and dries quick.

    Awful for drawing

    No - 9 months ago
These are terrible for drawing. Not sure how well they'd do on other surfaces but the white becomes clear when it dries (so it basically does nothing) and the paint is super liquidy. Probably because they're water based. And theres not even a fine tip. You could easily find some other paint pens that do have a fine tip. Just get some blank paint pens and fill them with oil based paint or buy oil based paint pens. Don't listen to the postive reviews cause these are terrible.

although the paint lasts a long time, it's way too expensive for what you get. $20.99 is a lot for 8 paint pens. you could get the same thing for only $9.99. it also doesn't work well on what I want it to. overall, i wouldn't recommend it.

Pens are great quality and such a fun tool to have in any art kit. Only recommendation is to be next to the trash or sink when you start the flow of a new pen. The paint goes absolutely everywhere! So be prepared, I wish they were more controlled so that younger kids could use them
