Description
This serum’s claim to fame is an advanced strength blend of ingredients, including a potent dose of antioxidant L-Ascorbic Acid, aka Vitamin C, to boost brightness, fight the look of hyperpigmentation, swerve free radical damage and pull youthful-looking skin to the surface. And if you get a dark spot every time you have a pimple, then you definitely need a Vitamin C serum in your daily routine! Research shows that Vitamin C may help to inhibit the skin's melanin production, which means the skin is less likely to overproduce melanin in response to an injury such as a pimple.
This formula also includes Kojic Acid to exfoliate dead skin buildup, while Ferulic Acid and Niacinamide team up to tackle the look of aging skin, fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots!
After cleansing or toning, smooth 4-6 drops over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Allow to fully absorb into skin before applying additional products. Use twice daily.

Q: should i use it if the serum’s color is orange? it is not light yellow like on picture.

A: Hello! That is normal with The Even Tone Super Glow Serum! Due to the combination of the Ferulic Acid with the L-Ascorbic Acid otherwise known as Vitamin C, it will oxidize over time, darkening its color. This does not change its effectiveness or shelf life. It will be just as effective and has a shelf life of 1 year. A: The Even Tone Super Glow Serum should not be used as a moisturizer. We recommend checking out the Hydranutrient Radiance Restore Oil for a light moisturizer, or our DermShield All Day Sun Protection Mattifying Moisturizer SPF 30. Both are available on our website. The smell of the Even Tone Super Glow Serum is due to the combination of Ferulic Acid and L-Ascorbic Acid, otherwise known as Vitamin C. The combination and potency of these products produce great results but, unfortunately, not the best smell. As an alternative, we suggest trying our Super C Brightening Serum which is a part of our Pro Strength Collection. It is larger in size, and contains 20% Vitamin C which overpowers the scent. Our Even Tone Super Glow Serum is smaller in size and contains 10% Vitamin C. They are both effective products for improving the appearance of hyperpigmentation, dullness, and the signs of aging skin.

I purchased this serum yesterday and also the starter kit that contained the Retinol, cleansing bar and SPF sunscreen. A work rep recommended this line and I wanted to give it a try, I was so excited! Until I got home. I opened the serum and Immediately disgusted! I smelled it a few times thinking I was imagine it and NO! It smells like tar…. Like a rotten pot of boiled hot dog water. I did not even think about putting this on my face. I then opened the starter kit and long behold. Every. Single. Item inside smelled horrible as well. Like what is happening. Do they not smell their product?? I jumped back in my Tahoe and returned EVERYTHING. I will add. The Urban Skin Rx Vitamin C+E moisturizer is AMAZING and smells very pleasant.

I wanted to love this company so bad and support a black woman owned business. That’s why I kept trying product after product instead of using my better judgment! I thought well maybe the serum will be different than the retinol. And it was different it didn’t burn me it instead blotched the heck out of my skin. Now my discoloration is worse and my skin is blotchy af. I have to go to the dermatologist! Please be careful if you have sensitive skin! Prior to this I would’ve considered my skin not sensitive. I have normal skin type and I wish I could go back and not use this I’m so stressed! I don’t want it to look like I have a mustache!

I finished the first bottle and just picked up my second one. I started using it because my skin had a lot of sun damage and dark spots. I truly see an improvement. The smell doesn’t bother me at all. My skin feels much better. I have SUPER sensitive skin, but this serum didn’t irritate it at all. I really recommend it.

I’ve only been using it for a couple days but it has already reduced some of the acne I had. Can’t say if it helps with hyperpigmentation yet. Yes it does have a strong smell when you first put it on but at least for me the smell goes away. Just let it set and apply moisturizer and spf over it. It is quite strong! I would not use every day at first unless you have very oily skin

This product smells like hot dogs! Very unpleasant to apply to your face. I tried using it a couple times and the smell does fade after 5-10 minutes but it's so bad when you're putting it on. I didn't use it long enough to be able to speak to its effects on your skin, I'm gonna see if any of my friends tolerate the smell and give it to them or toss the rest of the bottle

This smells absolutely awful. It’s unbearable… it’s also causing my skin to break out ALL OVER. I literally have 8-9 spots in the area between my eyebrows alone & more keep popping up all over. In places I don’t even normally get spots. I’ll probably try to return it.

I can’t tell if this product works or not I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and haven’t noticed a difference. I did however notice the bottle is almost gone and I’ve used the recommended drops. The smell didn’t bother me as much as other customers but I understand. Also, for as pricey as this is you don’t get a lot of product. I will be looking for an alternative.

This stuff is one of the absolute worst smelling products I’ve ever used. I can’t speak on if it actually works or not because I stopped using after once use it was nauseating - not an exaggeration. Skip it.

To be honest I don’t think this product was designed, advertised for my skin tone/type but I bought it on a whim on clearance not really paying attention. It’s truly changed my skin, dark spots and uneven textures. I agree the smell is awful and it’s sticky at first but once I moisturize my skin feels amazing, soft and supple! Hopefully they fix the smell but otherwise right now I’m hooked.

Loved the product over the years but the newest bottle is different. The smell is horrible and the color changed. Not sure if the results are any different but for the price, I’ll be considering alternatives.
