Having shaved with Van der Hagen glycerine shave soap for many years with a traditional silver tip badger shave brush, I unsuccessfully tried multiple brands of after shave lotions containing chemicals and fragrance that subsequently irritated and caused ingrown wirey white hairs on sensitive facial skin. With the creation of Van der Hagen's new Post Shave Soothing Balm to compliment their shaving soap line, I discovered a product that is fragrance free enhanced with calming witch hazel, aloe, tea tree oil and vitamins that simultaneously smooth and calm your skin in a non-greasy rapidly drying creamy lotion that limits outbreaks and leaves your face looking natural and refreshed. The lack of fragrance allows individual choice to add a preferred cologne or fragrance avoiding the annoying clash of manufacture branding scents providing a statement distinctly your own.

I like that it’s all natural and hypoallergenic. I got it because I liked other Van Der Hagen products and wanted to give it a try too. It seems good to me and I’m glad to have it.

I bought this on a whim. Wanted something different from the other gels and creams. When I applied it I didn’t feel the cooling right away but it was super slick so I just went on shaving. The cold really kicks in after you start using the razor. Little bit of menthol smell but its not too much. Glide was really good though and the gel didn’t dry out at all. Nice smooth shave!
