A: Good question, John. If any Vicks product contains alcohol it will be listed in the ingredients. Alcohol is commonly used in liquid medicines for the following reasons. It keeps the drugs suspended in the liquid so you receive the correct dose. It is a preservative and so prevents the growth of harmful bacteria in the bottle. It can also help to mask the unpleasant taste of some ingredients. Alcohol is not directly added to NyQuil Severe Cold & Flu Honey.

Make sure you know it's NOT DayQuil.
It works, and the taste definitely gives away that there’s honey in it (for better or for worse), my only complaint is that it looks too similar to DayQuil, which is typically orange in color. I took this by accident instead of DayQuil (first thing in the morning, with brain fog from being sick) and realized my mistake an hour later at work. 10/10 do not recommend taking this before work.

It works!
This has always worked for my sore throat, cough, runny nose! The taste is not that bad so not sure why everyone is complaining but it tastes like most medicines out there. I highly recommend it!! Helps you sleep, too!

Disgusting
This was so bad! Immediately vommitted after taking it! Plus, it hurt my stomach for the rest of the day. Made me feel worse honestly. Do not recommend through away the entire bottle.

Straight up booty from a bee's butt!
The title is how me and my roommates describe the flavor. It's absolutely horrifying. If you have a weak stomach, don't take this. But it IS very effective despite what all these negative nancies have to say about this medicine. I'd recommend it just for the effect of how well it works if you're able to handle the horrifying taste though!

Awful awful horrible taste. Shockingly bad.
This is the most vile concoction I have ever had in my mouth. Really, incredibly terrible flavoring. Does it work? Who knows. It’s too hideous to put in your mouth.

DONT BUY
Literally didn’t work and tastes AWFUL. It smells like that fake cheap honey you’d get at the store but the overwhelming taste of mint/medicine is disgusting, I wanted to throw up. Not to mention, I look the NyQuil hours ago and guess what isn’t helping? Returning this asap

Where do I start? I had the absolute worst experience with this NyQuil and DayQuil. I regrettably did not read all the reviews and only read the paid promotion reviews - I will NEVER make this mistake again -. Truly I have come to warn anyone who desires to buy this type of medicine. I took a total of 7 doses of DayQuil (Honey Flavor) and 3 doses of NyQuil (Honey Flavor) before I had to give up. First of all, It didn’t NOT heal me. only made me “less” sick while also simultaneously giving me ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS such as a dry throat, dry nose, and the worst stomach ache and pains of my LIFE! Finally, the flavor is absolutely disgusting. They advertise “Honey” so I assumed it would be sweet which would have been a nice break BUT NO THIS WAS NOTHING LIKE HONEY. If I could go back in time and prevent myself from buying this I 100% would. Please do yourself an incredible favor and buy the regular DayQuil/NyQuil. Just whatever you do, stay away from this.

As much as I acknowledge that honey is good to soothe a sore throat, this product DOES NOT TASTE NOR SMELL LIKE HONEY. One wiff, I gagged. One spoonful, I vomitted. Please do not waste your money buying this item. Stick with the original flavor.

Don't recommend
I purchased this today and this review is after my second dose. 1st round didn't bring down my fever, let's see how the second one goes. The fact that I'm sick and making this review should be clear that this sweet liquid rubber chemical is disgusting.

Vile tasting, no real honey, food dye.
Tastes worse than robitussin. This is actually only second grossest to the taste of crushed up pills in your mouth. Absolutely repulsive. I can handle regular NyQuil without flinching, but if you already feel like throwing up- this makes it worse.

Works Every Time
I always keep a bottle stocked in my medicine cabinet. The only stuff that works when I have a sore throat or feel a cold/body aches coming on. The folks that left a poor review because of the taste…it’s medicine. It’s purpose isn’t to taste good, it’s to help you feel better when you’re sick. I mean, are you gargling with it? Or sipping it for hours on end? Just chug it down and move on. Honestly, there’s worse tasting medicine out there compared to this one.

Do not recommend. Terrible taste.
Nasty taste. We opened the bottle to smell it and it was disgusting. We had a small sip to try and immediately drank a bottle of water after because it was so bad.
