A: I have the violet palette and there are 2 shimmer shades and 3 matte shades. They are not glittery or overly shimmery though. Very pretty and appropriate for ladies over 40 like myself

Not the one for me
This eyeshadow did not go on smooth, it had patches of darker spots that I had to smooth out. It had way too much sparkie for me. I have been using mabelline for many years and never had an issue with applying it. I wanted to find a clean eyeshadow but this was not the one!

Great for Sensitive Skin!
I have very sensitive skin and eczema prone eyelids. Because of this, I usually don’t wear any eyeshadow since those products normally trigger my eczema. I decided to give this a shot since I need to wear makeup for a wedding and to my surprise I didn’t have an allergic reaction! This is the first time I’ve ever tried eyeshadow that didn’t cause my eczema to flare! Immediately buying the other colors because I’m so excited that these work for me!! As far as the product goes, the shadows were decently pigmented and also buildable. So it was nice having flexibility to either do a light makeup look or a darker makeup look. Highly recommend this product!

Super cute

Nice palette but one of the shades didn't work well
I got the Violet palette, which has some nice cool-toned neutrals. Most of the shades apply really nicely. The darker shades show up well and would make a nice smokey eye. However, for me, the lighter shimmery shade (second one, which looks slightly more gold in person) did not transfer onto my eyeshadow brush hardly at all. It felt impossible to apply. All the other shades worked easily and nicely, just not that one. I was a little bummed because it would have been a nice shade. I gave three stars for that reason, otherwise it's a nice palette.
