Q: In the description it says the unit requires batteries. This must be only for the remote right? How effective is the self evaporative system? Is it more likely that the unit will not need to be drained?
A: The remote is hat batteries are needed for. <br><br> The air conditioner uses the patented auto drain or self-evaporative technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments. Please note that if the humidity is very high, the auto drain function will still exhaust the majority of the moisture. The remaining moisture will be collected in the water tank at the base of the air conditioner and continue to self-evaporate until the tank becomes full and requires manual drainage.<br><br> If continuous drainage is necessary, a hose can be installed to the upper drain port for continuous gravity drainage. Q: The closest 3 prong outlet is 15 feet from the window. Is the chord long enough?
