this is our second Whynter air conditioner. Both work great and cool very large rooms without any problem. The one we just bought was set up in 15 minutes and was cooling right away. the hose system is perfect for older houses where a window unit would not work. This unit does not put any strain on my wooden window frames. A great product overall

My air conditioner got messed up and I needed something to hold me over until I get it fixed. I did my research and came across this product. This has saved my life so far!! It blows super cold air and keeps the room cold for hours! The only part I would say I had a little issue with is the installment. I had to look at some videos online to combat sizing issues but aside from that, this air conditioner is amazing. I may buy a second one for my daughter’s room as well.

My best purchase so far. I was trying to avoid opening my walls and this was the perfect AC for my home. It helped my mom's home to be cozy and well ventilated. Would definitely but again, if needed.

We've only been using this a few days and already love it. I wouldn't expect less based on our previous experience with a 14SH. It cools quickly and effectively, as one would expect from a good dual hose AC unit. It's pretty heavy, but the wheels make it easy to move between rooms. Just don't expect to be moving it between floors very much.

This machine works very well, especially as a dehumidifier. Very happy with our purchase it has greatly improved our summer weather!

I've been running the Whynter ARC-14S in my 150 sq. ft. bedroom for the past three years. It has saved my life. The room gets into the mid- to upper-eighties and the A/C brings it down into the mid-70s within 30 minutes. I'd be unable to sleep without it. In fact, I can't imagine life without it It isn't dead silent, of course, that would be impossible; but the sound has never disturbed my sleep. I'm completely used to it and don't notice it any more. I keep it clean and store it carefully. When I've had questions, the kind, patient people at Whynter have taken care of me. The excellent service is not to be undervalued. When this unit ultimately wears out, I will buy Whynter again. Recommended! 🙏

I bought 1, blower wheel blew up, replaced and bought a spare unit, years later that blower wheel blew up too, so I bought another unit so I could keep a spare handy. This time, though, I opted to attempt to replace the blower wheel. Lot of screws. But did so and it's ran perfectly ever since, and now I have 1 in use and 2 spares. I use this to cool the master closet, to where I have a half-sized server rack of equipment. Intake and exhaust are via my garage which is through a wall; just cut a couple of holes and screwed in the hoses, vertical layout with the exhaust being higher than the intake, thought being that heat rises. Keeps my garage a bit warmer in winter, and this thing is strong enough it can handle a hot ambient garage in summer in Oklahoma. Also when I still only had "2" they both came in handy as the central heat pump decided to go out in August during hte hottest part of summer (of course!). Was able to make it tolerable in 2 bedrooms for us to sleep at night and to get away from the heat a bit during the day, for a solid couple of weeks while I got a new AC system sourced and installed.

However setting up was a bit difficult due to the window panels not being long enough for my window. But after getting it on it was fine but another con is how the hoses appear. It’s not very appealing to look at but with this heat that’s just a little issue I can live with. How’s this AC is amazing and works so good, that it overcomes the 2 small cons I have. I love this AC so far

Purchased a second unit to cool off top floor of home. Both unit's cool 1200 square feet of top floor living space and make it very livable.

I bought this machine two weeks ago, and it is PHENOMENAL! I live in a pretty large apartment, and this thing cools my living and dining rooms without a problem. My old portable AC unit maybe kept my space 8-10 degrees cooler than outside. When I turned on this Whynter machine; I had low expectations....boy was I surprised! My weather station showed an outdoor temperature of 93.5 degrees F, and indoors it 76.2 degrees F! Absolutely AMAZING!! It also reduced the humidity way better than my previous unit. On other reviews that I have read; people have commented on the dual hose system being counter productive. Although it is true that the exhaust hose does radiate heat; I haven't had any problems with it affecting it's cooling capabilities. The only thing to watch out for is the weight....this thing is HEAVY! This machine is WAAAAY more quiet than the other unit that I owned prior to this one, and this one has 4000 more BTU's. All in all.....I'd recommend this unit to anyone that is in the market for a portable air conditioner. It's worth every penny!

In 2022 I bought the 14000 Whynter for family room level of house and bought the 12000 Whynter for bedrooms level. After researching every imaginable portable AC , Whynter had excellent reviews, made in America . They were safely delivered , well packaged, and easy to hook up and operate. The price was excellent for the two units , and a great purchase worth every penny being saved while house cooled to very comfortable temperature. My electric bills were hardly noticeable for the usage during hot season. Absolutely recommend these two units.

I installed this about 30 days ago on my enclosed back porch. We are very happy with the speed the unit cools this space down. We use the porch everyday so this works wonderful. It replaced an older 8K btu casement unit. The two hoses make this extremely efficient.

I bought this unit in 2017 and have used it when needed to cool about 600 sq.ft. With fans it's quite comfortable. A vital improvement I made which I learned with a previous unit is to wrap the intake and exhaust hoses in heat reflective material such as used in windshields. A tremendous amount of heat comes from especially the exhaust which is obvious to the touch. Why I haven't seen this suggestion from either the manufacturer or elsewhere is beyond comprehension. Maybe by giving only 4 stars to a product I consider excellent this info. will get read and acted on.

Really love my unit, I’m using it in my bedroom. It takes less then 10 minutes to cool the whole room! Only thing I would change is the temperature showing all the time, once you turn it on the display goes off. I would like to see the Temperature of the room all the time.

At first I was little skeptical when I first got it going, because it didn’t right away cool off my room, but I do have vaulted ceilings and it gets pretty hot up here in the San Diego Mountain Cleveland National Forest area, but after a couple hours, it cools down my room pretty well, and not that dry air cold, that sucks the moisturity of your body, but a nice comfortable coolness that I love, which my wife noticed as well.
